Honest question, doss2, have you been to a game or walked through the remodeled 5/3?

I have and it is very impressive in many respects, but disappointing in some critical areas (at least for cheap seat holders like me). I would say much improved and very nice, but hardly great, venue.

On the subject of mediocre coach, I agree enthusiastically. 12 years of empirical data cannot be ignored.

Was there a team shop inside that I missed. I was really disappointed I couldn’t buy any gear inside?

I remember seeing a team shop on the map. It's there somewhere, I think on the second floor.

Scratch that, it is on the first floor concourse right in front of the east entrance.

They sell gear on both concourses. I wouldn’t call either one a team shop. Nothing like what you would see at GABP.

I suspect it will eventually end up in the glassed in area on the East concourse.

Yeah, Holtmann was decent. Venue was great. Our seats in the lower bowl were excellent.

In a related topic, speaking as a consumer without a business background, what is the deal with concession prices? I can understand pricing alcohol high so everyone isn't falling down drunk, but what is the deal with food? I have club seats, but I just refuse to buy a little cheese coney for $5 when I can get similar food before the game over in the TUC for much less. I would think that an increase in volume of sales would make up the difference of lower margins if prices were decreased. Who sets the price points?

That must be it. It was empty/still under construction.

It’s this way at most sports venues these days.

Get the hell out of here if you think Mick is worse than Marvin. Marvin is clearly the worst.

My guess is the operator/tenant of the space.

They're both pretty similar. Do a lot well. Very stubborn in their ways. Achieve at a pretty high level on regular season. Never elite, lose to rivals no post season success.

No clue about Marvin's salary but willing to bet he's a much better value than Mick.

Marvin has never won in the postseason and doesn't make it every year. No way Marvin is a better value than Mick.

LOL you took the bait. Mick & Marvin both suck and neither can justify their $alaries. Which douche sucks the most is a moot point - they both suck ! Thanks for playing!!!
