Yeah, it would be a good conference but we all know it will never happen so lets toss out Tulane for Alabama.

Fresno
Houston
Tulane
Tulsa
San Diego State
SMU
AAC East:
Cincinnati
ECU
Memphis
Navy
Temple
UConn
UCF
USF
Play all 7 division members, plus 2 cross division opponents and 3 ooc games a year, with every team agreeing to play 2 P5's every year. I think this league, top to bottom would be equal to the worst P5 on a yearly basis and would be the first 16 team super conference and would all but lock up a monopoly on the NY6 G5 representative, plus it literally incorporates every team that has made the NY6 game thus far, with the exception of the 2 MAC team flukes, which with this new AAC being so strong SOS wise would virtually guarantee the bid on a yearly basis. Perception is reality and having a conference with teams in every timezone, would allow games to start first at noon EST on an ESPN channel and end at 10pm EST on an ESPN channel, starting and ending the day with the same conference games is great for brand awareness and marketing, plus the AAC tv contract is up soon and having a conference with UCF, USF,Boise, the eyeballs of the entire LDS community, etc will help with $$$ negotiations. Regarding the 2 P5 ooc games/year, that's my idea, but rumor is that P5 schools may decide all together to no longer play fcs teams as sos is playing a huge roll in the cfp rankings (they were talking about it last week on ESPNU radio) and lastly the playoff will expand eventually, there will just be too much of a demand for it and if/when they go to 8 and include the best G5 team, this new AAC will again, have a virtual lock on it. I'd do it in a heartbeat. What say you? Thanks
No to Boise, no to Tulane, no to Tulsa. Yes to Army as football only.

I agree with Bearcat#1, but I'd swap Fresno for Air Force football only with Gonzaga basketball only. I think that they would 100% join if Boise is included.

On the other hand, adding BYU, Air Force (football-only), and — once the new athletic facilities are in place — San Diego State is an idea to which I’m very much open.
Personal grudges aside, I'm trying to incorporate the best G5's into one conference and Boise must be included to fit that criteria, regardless of your bitterness about them.
Hard feelings aside this would be the smartest most strategic outcome possible. It just makes to much sense business wise.

1. They can just cut a minor check and call it even.
2. Blue turf is their trademark. Nobody complains about our turnover beads.
3. Academics are meaningless.
I am VERY pro-Boise State. Unfortunately the politics are in the way.

Add the Zags in the west, put WSU in the east, the basketball side of the conference would be even better.

No Tulane no Tulsa then yes. The can’t draw anyone to games and brings down the brand.

I like the AAC the way it is....I'm only down with additions if Army football-only and BYU football-only comes to pass.

Right now I think that is where I am at, too, but if the 16 team proposal above brings 15 million per team I could re-evaluate my stance. The ACCESS Bowl would be locked up and a path to a FBS championship could be a reality if it goes to 8 playoff teams.

Screw the ACCESS Bowl. If we did that, I would want a contract bowl. Due to us being truly a Nation-wide conference, I suppose we would want an auto-bid to the Fiesta instead of the Peach?

I'd keep navy in the west and swap out Fresno for the army and put them in the east. But I think this whole thing is good for football only and our basketball (where we actually matter and have a chance) will take a hit.

I’m really puzzled by some wanting service academy’s. Obviously great and valuable men for our armed forces; but I think the all , including navy should be independent. Different agendas .( and don’t enjoy watching their games to be honest)

None of those programs add value to the AAC.

If the 16 team league would bring in 10+ mil per team ok, otherwise no.

This coast to coast league needs to bring more than $10M/team to make it financially feasible - the AAC should get $10M as it stands. Also, though it has been mentioned elsewhere & many times, Navy wants to be in the west - maybe not that much west but likely a TX game & San Diego St as a designated game if not in the west (also lots of Navy support in the Memphis area).

On 2 conditions:
1. It increases per team payout dramatically
2. It comes with a NYD Bowl tie in
Otherwise, what’s the point? Also, I’d rather just BYU and Boise.
