Really looks super.

Half right.

Survey re: the Hall would have been best sent out today after the game, so most could easily remember what needs to be fixed.

New W&M graphics on our new court look terrific: really jump out at you and make great picture for TV. Many students and fans wearing clothes with new look too (four people in our row alone).

Also like new unis... "William & Mary" name on the shorts to go with Tribe on shirts a welcome touch. Much better than last season's awful pants.

Totally unrelated to this, but I wanted to rant. When shopping for new gear during homecoming, I was disappointed how little product was available with the updated W&M logos. We are an under armor school. I simply wanted an updated W&M under armor polo at the bookstore. They don't seem to carry them. They offered a couple of updated t-shirts and sweatshirts. Most were outdated or block print designs that aren't even the schools logo or script. I'm sure they have a lot of old stock to move, but they need to do better.

Agreed with you...I'd love get one of the UA polos with the new logos on it. I'm sure its coming.

One other note: Would love to see the white background on the LED boards get changed before any TV games. The graphics themselves look great (Logo + Let's Go Tribe!) But the white background can be blinding on CAA.TV. Not sure if anyone else had the same observation.

Have you tried the Campus Shop on Prince George Street? It's a block or so behind DoG Street but still in Merchants Square. I always buy my gear there. They were always great to students when I was there (92-97) and I still like to support them.

They definitely should look into it. That is the reason the Highlights from the HP game were not as professional looking as last season. The cameras are trying to adjust to the huge difference in reflected light and are not able to do it quickly enough.

Yeah, I always go there before trying B&N because Campus Shop is all about the Tribe, is mostly staffed by students, and they keep items I like. The manager has to have been there for 20+ years.

Agree. Too bright and illegible because of this.

Whoever is in charge of B&N merchandise should be replaced...a very poor eye for style.

Campus shop is even worse as far as having the new logo. I’m trying to remember, but I think they might not have had anything as of a month or so ago.

"worse" is subjective.

Touché. But in a discussion about people wanting the new logo, I think it’s a fair statement.

Somewhat related, but can someone explain why decent W&M polos seem to consistently run $80-$100 at both The Campus Shop and BN? I know I’m not that old and regrettably I don’t get down nearly as often to load up on gear, but the last few times I’ve experienced some sticker shock. I just don’t remember short sleeve polos being that expensive. I guess $50 is more what I’m accustomed to. I assume it’s the same with other schools as well. Licensing fees?

Anyway, just wondering.

I usually hit up the QB Club Lot table at football games. They don't have a lot but everything is reasonably priced. Another option is asking someone to grab you some gear at Tribe auctions...I recently purchased a Nike Tribe cap and 2 sweet tee shirts for $20. BN usually has decent stuff upstairs in their clearance section.

Or, pay way too much at BN and CS.

Seems like having an official licensed merch section on the Tribe website or Tribe Club site would be a nice money maker. I agree, $100 is a bit much for a polo shirt. As long as they charge enough to turn the profits they need to make it worthwhile. Sell the stuff that are the same styles the athletes sport. I've seen athletes in some awesome green under armor polos. I've seen players sporting some nice under armor W&M basketball t-shirts. I would think it would be possible to offer far lower pricing than a brick and morter establishment and offer more relavent sports targeted merch. There is far less overhead. Also, I'm pretty sure tribe alums and supporters would feel better paying a premium if it went towards the sports programs and not into the profits of a private business.

Sounds a lot louder and engaged crowd at Duquesne compared to the Hall, with only 4K attending. Cheerleaders engaging the crowd, maybe student section.

I had to search through my email to find this site, but is this (https://wm.shoptruespirit.com/) the kind of thing you're talking about? IMO, it needs to be better publicized. It's as good as or better than the physical stores.

Definitely better gear listed than their physical B&N store. It is still geared towards the average student as you'd expect from the bookstore. I would like to see gear more in line with the athletics dept gear. Other than football, we are an under armor school. I would expect a full line of UA and or Nike gear.

RE: The Hall, AKA "Kaplan Arena"
Just got this email from AD Huge about a focus group tomorrow night for the Hall. I can’t make it because I’m out of town but am interested to hear feedback form any of you that go.

“Hello Tribe Fans!

Over the next few months, our athletics program will be working with Conventions, Sports, & Leisure International, to assist us with strategic thinking and planning regarding Kaplan Arena and our overall basketball game day experience.

We thank you for your participation in our initial survey that was a very important first step toward planning for the future. As part of Phase Two, William & Mary Athletics is conducting a market analysis and feasibility study regarding potential comprehensive renovations or a possible reconstruction of Kaplan Arena. We are also engaging you—our constituents—with CSL in small focus groups to garner your feedback. As a valued member of our William & Mary Tribe, we would greatly benefit from your opinions and feedback as we assess potential ideas to enhance the event-day experience for our fans and patrons while also seeking to positively impact William & Mary sports programs and the greater campus community.

Your participation is critical, as the direct-market feedback is essential to evaluate the level of support for various seating options, fan amenities, and other potential areas of arena improvements. The results of the focus groups will assist with the CSL’s final recommendations to the University on future Kaplan Arena improvements.

There is very limited space for participation in this event. As such, reservations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis at the links below. Unfortunately, due to space constraints, no additional guests may be invited to attend with you should you choose to participate in the focus group.

CSL will be holding focus group sessions for a limited number of participants on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in Wightman Cup Room in Kaplan Arena. The physical address for your GPS is:

Person Room
Kaplan Arena, 3rd Floor
751 Ukrop Way
Williamsburg, VA 23185

November 13th, 2018 | 6:30pm-8:00pm
https://www.rsvpmenow.com/rsvpbeta/?id=33362

Thank you for your continued support of William & Mary Athletics!

Go Tribe!

Samantha K. Huge”
