Sad you can't take kids to a college game without subjecting them to that kind of garbage. I've been going to college games for 40 years and it's gotten progressively worse over the last 5-10 years. It's time the administrations stepped in and put a stop to this nonsense.

Our students chant "you sick a**holes* on kickoffs so it's not like theirs are uncultured ruffians and ours are choir boys. Perspective. We can ALL do better.

Coastal has the potential to have a really good atmosphere and tailgating scene. Just need to get the students and fans to come out and support the team more. I'm sure having so much to do close byakes it tough to keep students attention though.

The program is also very young - this is only our 16th season. It will take some time to build up the fan base.

Coastal’s rise has definitely been a remarkable one. They weren’t FBS ready when they made the move, but they have done most everything right to make it as seemless as possible. Especially when compared to the C-USA call-ups.

CCU beat the likely CUSA champion by good margin this year and will make a bowl game. More than holding their own.

Coastal is in really good shape. You're already better than Texas State (no offense Bobcats). You've got a trillionaire coach (who actually knows what he's doing), a nice stadium, fantastic baseball facilities, and a national championship in a major sport. I think we'll all be very proud of where you are in 10 years (so long as you get rid of that fugly teal turf.

Coastal Carolina,

You were all awesome to my wife and myself, and I enjoyed meeting ya. Caught a few stranger's tabs because on our way down we were waved at and honked at for being App fans by Coastal fans. My wife and I began watching on the 50 amongst your faithful on the side that was getting beamed by the sun...... great folks. Sat beside a gentleman in his 80s and his son who were very kind and knowledgeable. I would love for this to become a civil rivalry between two tourist towns. Thanks for having us, and let me know if you're ever in Boone.

There were three students who yelled at me over the course of several hours, but I wasn't bothered too much by it.

That baseball stadium was palatial. I caught some of the fall world series in the morning and I'd love to go back for a series.

Personally foul language doesnt bother me, i thought it might when i have kids but my brother has a similar opinion on the matter and after he had his first he still doesnt care and doesnt mind if its within earshot of his kid i think its just a generational shift where we dont really have much value put into those words as being bad but idk my opinion is obviously subjective, that being said i dont tend to use those words directed at somebody and can find it very vitriolic when it is used that way but i expect students to say stuff like that at this point maybe thats sad to some

It's extremely sad, but it really doesn't surprise me when you see how much society has deteriorated. To think this type of language is acceptable by supposedly educated and civil people is amazing. Civility, decency and respect for others is not generational.

What is considered civil is. The younger generation may use idiotically "bad" words more but we also discriminate against our neighbors for their differences way less so hold up on the high horse nonsense my friend.

THIS JUST IN: College students acted like college students at a college football game in Conway, SC.

More to come on this breaking story after the break....

At least I hope that's the case.

These same people get all up in arms over not treating certain groups of people with respect, yet they do exactly the opposite to others.

Amazed how people excuse this behavior and write it off as kids being kids. Wonder if they would talk this way around their younger siblings?
