The offense needs a couple more play makers. We have nothing the equivalent of Swain or Dobbs out there. I would be happy with a Kaipo like QB. I hope we have some QB's coming up from Naps because it does not look strong for the future. We always seemed to have the heir apparent but no back up is getting playing time. I wonder if Army is sucking up some of our East coast talent.
For what it is worth, if we don't fumble that last pitch, he probably scores there. He had wide open spaces.

Yup. In case it wasn't clear from timing that was the play to which I was reacting.

I was disgusted with the first half.
Then I was optimistic.
Then I was resigned.
Takeaways:
You can't spot the #3 team in the country a 27 point lead. Especially not when you're Navy.
We showed some glimmers of what could be better.
We have yet to put together two halves of trademark Navy football.
A couple plays were exemplary of this season - penalties in critical spots and failures to execute (whiffed blocks and unforced fumble)

I'll say good game and congrats to ND since there is at least one lurker here.

I thought the two major 1st half keys were ND stopping Navy twice on short yardage situation. Two years ago in Jacksonville that did not happen and we ate the clock and won the game.
Historically when we ran the "big stick", we rarely got stopped on short yardage.
