Gray happens to be a school color. That seems to bother a lot of people who prefer blue and white uniforms. Personally i hate wearing Kentucky"s colors but shirley raines was from kentucky and really liked it so those became our defacto colors. I am happy that gray is once again being worn, it will take some fans as long to accept that as it did for them to accept University of Memphis instead of Memphis State.

The only thing correct in that whole ramble was gray being a school color. PMS423 to be exact.

Hallelujah! No bengals striped helmets. Watched last weeks game in Nebraska and all’s I heard random people saying was how awful the helmets on the blue team were.( maybe they just read my mind) Wish we stuck with blue or grey; but any color with logo on it is better than bengal copies ! Yippie

I think the gray and blue mix is awesome. The gray & white w/ no blue is atrocious and the tiger stripe helmets would be cool if Memphis was the only school wearing them and the Cincinnati Bengals hadn't been wearing them for 30 years.

I’ll like them a lot more if we pull off the W.

The thing with the stripes , is they are either liked , by some , or totally and utterly hated, by me and everyone I know anywhere. Wish they could put out a helmet that everyone at least thinks is ok. I hate when we wear anything other than blue/gray---as for our name---I hated the change--- we will always be MEMPHIS STATE to me.

Ditto. Great looking helmet. And the stripe of the helmet matched the stripe on the jersey sleeve.

I was hoping for Lavender

Some of our uniforms lately have had that XFL feel to them.
