Six figure salaries to top prospects. Interesting... Wonder if that's competitive with the salaries they would get from the top schools...

Salaries will be very competitive because players that go that route can also sign endorsement deals and sign with agents to line all of that up for them, and thats where the money is coming from for college players anyway..

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I could see a lot of really good 17-18 year old basketball players getting their buts kicked every night by grown men in the G-league who are desperate to make a name for themselves and pissed that they are making $35k while the young punk they are guarding is making bank. I think it may be a trickle of players at first, but once players see people turning G-league into being a lottery pick then the dam will break.

This may the be only solution that could clean up college basketball.

I agree with the basic point, but surely the “grown men” will be making more than $35k.

Also, would be interesting to see what the ratio of “prospect” to “journeyman” is on the roster. If it’s one hot young thing per team, that’s a different dynamic than 3 or 4 per team.

Or it will get dirtier as college basketball raises their rates to recruits to stay competitive

Maybe, but the one thing that colleges can't offer (right now) is the ability for the player to make money off of their own likeness.

That may be the tipping point for some of the superstar prospects.
