Ranking the G5 over P5 wins - 2018 Edition
To date, there have been 16 G5 over P5 wins.

Of those, only three are over teams that currently have a winning record:

ODU over 3-1 Virginia Tech (FSU, Duke)
Temple over 3-1 Maryland (Texas)
SDSU over 3-2 Arizona State (Michigan State)

Each of these P5 teams have wins over other P5 teams (Here)

The only other G5 with a win over a P5 win a P5 win themselves is:

EMU over 2-3 Purdue (BC)

10 of the 16 P5 victories are over teams with ZERO FBS wins

You can flip that.

Almost all P5 wins vs G5 have come against teams with losing records.

To me, you'd have to control for losses vs other P5. E.g., if a G5 is 2-3, but 0-2 vs P5, then that's not a team with a losing record for our purposes here.

To be fair, you really should subtract the P5 team’s loss to the G5 team in computing their record for this purpose. If the P5 team is 2-3 overall, then they’re 2-2 in their other 4 games.

Just looking at the Mountain West:

Total of 4-13 against P5

MWC teams (6) with winning records: 3-5
MWC teams (2) at .500: 0-2
MWC teams (4) with losing records: 1-6

Plus, record itself isn't the best measure of anything. A P5 team that is 2-2, with two wins over FCS teams and two losses to G5 teams is likely a very bad team, probably worse than some with losing records.
