I agree. NC State is a team sitting right outside of the top 25. A lot of us would also struggle with them, but a bad performance is a bad performance whether it’s y’all or someone else.

If the oldsters have anything to say about it they will mummify him and keep him on the sideline as HC. It’s unreal. I remember what a great program they had 25 to 30 years ago and now they are basically no better than wake. Also the delusion of thinking they are so much better than “the commuter” they lost to is hilarious. It’s not 1964.

RE: Power Rankings After Week 2
The idea that everyone besides App State is tied for second/last is absurd. I'm sorry, but Texas State is not as good as Troy or Arkansas State. I'm a heck of lot more worried about the Trojans and Red Wolves than the Bobcats, Panthers, and Chants. And this is not to take awat from those teams' wins. I just think Troy and Ark State are very much contenders to win the league, while many others are not.

Say this after week 5. We basically know nothing at this point except App may win the East. I mean we dropped the first two last year and went 7-3 the rest of the way.

StingTalk makes the most delusional fanbases around sound completely lucid and rational. There are posters asking mods to ban members for starting.g Fire CPJ threads and posters or at least one suggesting that if they don't like CPJ and the direction of the program they should kill themselves. So yeah....a bit more than your fan base. LOL.

It is way to early still. Last week ULM was thought by some to be close to the worst team in the league and this week our defense showed out and some think we could contend for the West again. Who knows which is true?

RE: Power Rankings After Week 2
BASED ON RESULTS SO FAR
1. App st - Everybody is playing catch up.
2. stAte - Next week is a big test.
3. Coastal - Based on results so far.
4. GA Southern - Dual QB with weapons. Defense with a secondary.
5. ULM - Close to being #4. But I think ULMs Defense will lose them a few against better offenses.
6. Troy - Nebraska is winnable. Go out and play.
7. South Alabama - Good showing.
8. Ga State - Close win vs FCS. And a 2nd half blowout by a mid P5. Not convinced yet.
9. Louisiana - Stay healthy next week.
10. Texas state
Divisions - The East is stacked.

RE: Power Rankings After Week 2
Going by my personal definition of a power ranking (being basically at this point in time, how confident do you feel about team X beating team Y), anyone that doesn't have Texas State on the bottom is just being nice.
And while I appreciate the nicety, it's just not honest. We won, and that's great. But that game did not give ANYONE any confidence in our team. Our pass defense let up in the second half, which is sort of explainable given we were playing against a 4 star WR (want to say top 100 player in Texas when he was recruited). Odds are good we won't be facing that kind of player again the rest of hte season, so it's a bit less in the negative.
We didn't get near enough pressure on a bad FCS team's QB.
We allowed FAR too much pressure on our own QB.
Our QB has yet to settle down and let the game come to him (partially because he is perpetually running for his life).
Now for the positives, we might have found our go to receiver in Brown. Our RB's looked good (though, level of competition should be taken into account). We won. We got ANOTHER defensive TD. Our kicking game looks better than last season.
The questions we had answered for this game:
1. Is our O-Line really struggling that much? Yes, yes it is.
2. Is our defense better than last season? Yes, yes it is (but it's not a huge improvement).
Everything else is kinda up in the air still.

2. Arkansas State - Kind of thought they'd keep it a little closer, but I'm not going to let anyone jump them yet.
3. Troy - Did better this week, ran the ball well. I think Brown is getting the cobwebs clean
4. ULM - nice win over USM.
5. Louisiana - still like what they did in week 1
6. Georgia Southern - easily handled a UMass team that finished really strong last year and beating App State. They will win some games.
7. South Alabama - still have a problem with the running game
8. Coastal - I might take heat for this, but I wasn't super impressed with UAB in week 1. I think CCU looks good on offense, but it'll take more than a game to move Coastal up.
9. Georgia State - underwhelmed with them at NC State.
10. Texas State - Yikes. At least they won.
Just FYI Grambling State lost to Northwesten LA State 34-7.

you ULM fans take these power rankings to personal. your team performance last week was one of the worst in the conference mostly based on off season exceptions, so people ranked you low in week 1. in week 2 your team performance was one of the better in the conference, so you moved up. if your team keep being inconsistent, your ranking will keep moving all over the place.
