MAC adds JMU, Stony Brook
SBC adds Liberty

Liberty isn't going to a conference anytime soon. Our schedules are way better than anything the SBC, MAC or CUSA could provide(MWC is way too far). The flexibility of being an independent seems awesome.

Glad you feel that way, since no G5 conference would add Liberty. Enjoy your "also ran" bowl tie-ins for games on CBSSN.

My prediction:

DavidSt and NoDak is right. For whatever that means.

With the lack of any substantial deals to carry their network combined with falling further and further behind the other conferences financially, the PAC collapses.

XII adds the 2 Arizona schools, Utah, and the wildcard BYU.

B1G expands to 18, adds Colorado, Cal, UCLA, and Washington.

SC and Stanford go independent. The rest merge into the MWC.

Not unreasonable except I highly doubt Oregon gets left out. Perhaps Colorado goes back to the XII and Oregon goes to the B1G. BYU, Oregon St, and Washington St join the Mountain West.

I think the Playoffs will start to get enough money that the contracts will expand for the conferences from 10 million per conference ($1ml per team up to 10 teams) to $12 mil per conference (for 12 teams) and you'll see Sun Belt expand with MoSt and USM. Leaving CUSA at 13 and "fine" with it.

Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas to the Big10.
West Virginia to the SEC

Remaining Big12 teams cherry pick from the AAC and MWC and BYU.

ACC and SEC doesn't really want any more teams. If they did, they'd get them.

UCONN would be ahead of WVU. Just btw.

ND and Texas are the only two that are prizes that the ACC/SEC want. And the ACC has offered its ass to ND and got a promise ring.

1) The ACC and SEC may or may not want more teams. The issue is dealing with GoR agreements. We'll know more when those agreements come to the end of their term prior to renegotiation. Clearly they don't want any AAC schools or other non-power schools at the moment. They might later.

2) Connecticut is only ahead of West Virginia for the conferences that value Connecticut ahead of West Virginia. The B1G may definitely do so. The SEC would probably value West Virginia over Connecticut.

3) Are you saying neither of them wants Oklahoma!?

I'm going to go with the Oklahoma schools to the SEC. Then we are left with the question:

What Will the Longhorns Do?

That's a definite possibility. My thought was would Colorado want back in the XII and/or would the XII want them back.

RE: What’s your BOLD prediction next realignment round?
I think if the B1G starts raiding the PAC, it would probably go to 20 instead of 18:

Pacific - Washington, Oregon, California, UCLA, Arizona State
West - Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin
Central - Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State
East - Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland

The Pac 12 then invites everyone from the Big 12 but Baylor and West Virginia. They then grab San Diego State and Boise State and takes the name Big 16:

Northwest - Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Stanford
Southwest - San Diego State, Southern California, Arizona, Utah
Central - Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, TCU
East - Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Iowa State

West Virginia then gets the ACC to give them the Notre Dame deal, and signs a deal with Fox for their remaining games.

Baylor joins the WAC, which then adds C-USA West (sans UAB). All of the non-football schools in the WAC are re-homed sans UTRGV which then becomes the WAC’s ninth member in football.

I predict Cincinnati wins 2 New Years 6 Bowls in the next 8 years. And then our administration and lawmakers refuse to lobby to get into a new conference, so we are left behind again.

RE: What’s your BOLD prediction next realignment round?
But seriously, I think the Big 10 and SEC stay put. They're already sick of not playing their old rivals enough.

The ACC and PAC will try, and fail, to find anyone of value to add.

I predict nothing big happens until UCSD adds football, or two American Conference teams starts dominating enough that the Big 12/ACC tries to add them pre-emptively to gain an advantage over the other one.

RE: What’s your BOLD prediction next realignment round?
I think it's all going to come down to what kind of contract the Big12 is looking at when their deal expires. If its competitive with the SEC I dont think anyone moves. If its considerably lower, I believe Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are SEC bound. This will then make Texas decided if they want to rebuild the Big12, go indy, or follow to the SEC with Tech. If that happens Kansas is going to the BigTen and I think Missouri will go with them leaving a spot for maybe West Virginia going to the SEC.

Did you see what happened to UCONN last night against Boise St? Boise put up a school record 818 yards last night.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...ONN@BOISE/

Takeaways:

1) UConn FB is not strong enough for a A5 conference. They are an important enough school to be an asset to the American but a liability in football.

2) If UConn is this bad at FB surely any talk of adding UMass to the American makes zero sense when they have all the problems of UConn magnified by 10.

They would go down with the Big 12 ship along with KSU and Baylor. The Big 12 rebuilds from the AAC to become the top non-power conference.

What’s your BOLD prediction next realignment round?
A lot of ideas presented ... I DO think that the Mountain West will add Four Texas schools from Conference USA ...Rice , UTEP , North Texas State and UT San Antonio ....I also think that The American will add Army for football only ...Conference USA will backfill with Arkansas State and a few Teams from the Sunbelt ...

My bold prediction:

Nothing for the next 15 years except, some of the MAC/CUSA and Sun Belt schools drop football and those 3 regroup into 2 conferences.
