Ocasio Cortez Faces Backlash For Comment on John McCain
Quote:John McCain has passed and many have voiced their respect for his lifetime of service. One of those people is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who called him an example of unparalleled human decency. But many on the far left are furious that Cortez would praise a man they call a "warmonger." Was Cortez being classy and honorable, or is she just playing politics to look good to the press? Either way the far left is upset that she would say nice things about McCain regardless of her intention.

It's amazing how the far left actively seeks to be triggered by everything. It must be a high honor among them to hold the title of most triggered.

I think the far right is triggered to respond to anything this congressional candidate says. The idea is to keep her in the news, irregardless.
Perhaps thats a good strategy or perhaps people will recognize she's potentially just one of 435.

Per your chairman she's the future of your party.

To be honest the future looks a lot like the present.....a blithering idiot spouting ignorance. Ocasio-Cortez looks no different than Clinton, Booker, Ellison, Warren, Sanders, etc. in that vein.

she may very well be... time will tell. As of now, she gets more ink in Republican circles than she does in Democratic.

Because they want to mask the true direction of the Democratic Party. She's letting the cat out of the bag too early.

Exactly. The mask of the Democrat Party is coming off and we are seeing the ugly monster underneath. Of course, some want to not only embrace it, but they also want to make out with it as well.

As for the comment "Crazy Eyes" made about the late Sen. McCain, I'm glad she made it. Even political opponents should remember that we all live in this crazy world together and that our differences make us who we are, but more importantly, so does our humanity. For once, I will give Ms. Ocasio-Cortez praise.

And don't hate, y'all. My job is to call balls and strikes, even if it's against my own side of the aisle.

There's a pretty wide difference between Clinton/Booker and Ocasio-Cortez/Sanders.

Not really. They all want to take us to the same place--Venezuela. They just differ on how fast to go there. Put Schumer and Pelosi in the same boat.

On the far left site I enjoy, I have been warned that using the word "triggered" is actually triggering for certain people, and should not be used.

The democrats' problem is convincing people that she's not the way that the rest of them are trending, particularly when the party chairman calls her the future of the party.

The consumer keeps saying “no” to socialism, too, but those who "know best" keep pushing it as a solution despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Here's what I want to know. What is a "moderate democrat"?

I assume that means a democrat who is not a pinko collectivist/socialist/communist redistributionist. But where does such a person stand on the issues, and why does such a person retain hope the the democrats are the party that can lead us there?

Suppose you are a democrat who believes that if the democrats were in complete power, they would lead us somewhere that stops short of massively redistributionist collectivism/socialism/communism. Where is that place, and what makes you think democrats would lead us there?

Where do you disagree with the likes of Bernie, Liz Warren, and Ocasio-Cortez? And why do you think democrats will go there?

Marx said it plainly: socialism is training wheels for communism. So no reason to believe otherwise with Bernie, Warren or Ocasio-Cortez.

It’s also about “othering” the mainstream; about defining the ”Thems” in the “Them vs. Us” equation that is all liberal politics. And Democrats will take take it to its logical end believing "Us" will be the Apparatchiks driven around in Zils while the "Them" are muzhik in the fields and the factories.....

You need to think of liberalism as a metaphor for Santa Claus – happy, indulgent, magical, unquestioning, cookies and milk, presents under the tree. When you believe in Santa, there can only be hypothetical consequences ("Who cares that single-payer health care is a ka-gillion dollars!" "Too bad that guy got de-platformed. Punch a Nazi!" “Our system worked, we found ALL the bad ballots, and corrected them. There is no election fraud you silly people.")

Liberals are kids perpetually stuck on Christmas Eve. All wide-eyed and bushy-tailed knowing without fail someone will bring them presents in the morning.

The good news is the Apparatchiks always end up against the (proverbial?) wall in the end. It may take a while, but it will happen

Which is the scariest part about socialism and why it always ends up bad for human rights.
