I've never quite understood this.

It is all misdirection. I think the feud with Sessions is a fake misdirection feud as well. As long as his approval ratings stay around 50%, why wouldn't he let it play out until the media can no longer run on fake news? The damage to the media and the left will be far greater if it plays out long. If the crooks are taken away in cuffs before the midterms, it will look political.

I believe he is being aggressively counseled to let things run their course without direct interference until after the mid terms. If the Republicans hold the House, or keep it close, I have the feeling he's going to Genghis Khan a bunch of people in the DOJ and FBI.

Bro, mueller announced he's looking into his freakin' tweets. They're trying to spin his public opinions into obstruction, so what do you think they would do with any hard action?

It's a catch 22 where he knows they'll eventually reach a dead end, so he feels no pressure to do anything, but they get to rant and rave in the meantime, which hinders his presidency, and acting to end it would cause him more trouble than anything else.

I heard an interesting approach today: since Sessions has recused himself from the !Russia! investigation, Sessions should be able to take charge of Rosenstein and Mueller on anything not having to do with !Russia!, like Manafort and Cohen.

He's waiting for the what he considers the right moment to declassify documents that the DOJ and FBI refuse to release. I trust him on this one.

As for cleaning house at the DOJ, that comes right after the midterms, regardless of the results of that election.

I agree with this. Today's big scandal in DC blows over in less than week, or even less if another big scandal comes along.

Trump may be so confident about the results of the mid term, that he's decided to play the long game. Some of the bombshells hidden by the FBI may be very useful against a dim presidential opponent.

Mach, can you bring yourself to admit, to be honest with everyone, including yourself, that virtually every single detail that has come out about the FBI's handling of the Cankle server scandal and the Trump Russian Collusion investigation has been a black eye for them?

If your answer is no, then name the positives that have come out.

October surprise. Trump lets this storm brew and watches the dems make fools of themselves then drops the hammer late sept/early october. Dems are exposed as being blatently anti-trump with no message heading into the election. Mueller now under pressure to wrap up investigation of trump campaign and solely focus on tanget crimes from Manafort/Gates/Cohen/etc. Mueller clears Trump and campaign, trump says I told you so. Once cleared, Sessions goes full scorched earth on Fusion GPS/Ohr/HRC/and DNC. Republicans get the message to stop pussyfooting around and trade, the wall/immigration/true tax reform gets settled. Trump announces he has done what he set out to do as president, ushers Pence to the front of the ticket for 2020 with Ivanka as a moderate VP candidate to continue focus on economy and US interests abroad. Dems have no message for 2020 election. Checkmate.

On the other hand, he won't declassify because there is enough there to sway independents towards dems in the midterm.

And everything the FBI has redacted that was later released has demonstrated that they redacted it to hide their own embarrassment.

Trump has given Muller and DOJ full access to virtually all relevant documents about as transparent as a POTUS can be. What disgusts me is Muller in search of a crime and aided by DOJ have seized on potential campaign finance violations. From everything legal experts have said it doesn't rise to level of crime let DOJ is being allowed to charge it as such. In the end even IF there was a campaign finance violation it should never rise to level of impeachment. I hope even partisan democrats understand the damage impeachment could do to the republic. I know bat $hit crazy democrats like Maxine Waters and Shelia Jackson-Lee don't but hopefully common sense democrats do.
