Well, we needed something to kick off the weeks news cycle.

Deep state spooks don't get clearances. No clearances. Confiscate their clearances!

I know it's been said ad nauseam, but I do not understand why someone who is no longer in public service as some agent of the government, needs to have access to state secrets. Just doesn't make sense at any level.

My dad, a pilot during Vietnam, is fired up about this.

He told me his security clearance was revoked as soon as he left the Air Force.


Now, back to Trump.

All of those deep state stooges need to have their clearances revoked.

The issue had never been front & center on the national stage, even His Orangeness said as much. Based on what I've learned since the issue surfaced, it appears to be classic inside-the-swampy-beltway-milk-it-for-all-you-can stuff.

As was posted in another thread here where the guy goes bananas and tells another guest to "get out" on CNN, I suspect that congress is deeply involved as many ex-congressmen and senators take jobs inside the beltway after they've been ousted from office. Apparently having the clearance is coveted because it automatically gives one more presitge and access. Which, in a nutshell means that one is able to sell influence and secrets to the highest bidder.

I once worked for a number of months for a large company that had purchased mine. They were based in Houston. I stayed on long enough to make sure that they understood my accounting system, jobs-in-progress, etc, but they had their own experts in my line of business and would do fine without me.

The day I resigned and walked out of their door, I turned in my entrance security card and everything else they'd given me that was company-owned. What other way would one part company with an employee?

So sue for a clearance you don't need. Like to see how that works out.. may set a precedent that once you're no longer in a position that requires it you lose it across the board.

Yep.

Allowing these former employees to retain their clearances is a privilege, not a right. A courtesy. When you don't reciprocate courtesy back then you shouldn't be surprised when you lose said privilege and you certainly shouldn't be whining like a little ***** about it. You made the bed, you lay in it.

As I have stated before, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for anyone to possess a clearance after their term of employment is over. None. A termination of clearance doesn't come with a Men in Black mind wipe so they will retain the knowledge they already have and if consultation is needed by a future government they can give a narrow temporary clearance for whatever the subject is.

Just spit-balling here, but I don't think a retired AF pilot has the same clearance level or necessities as the former director of the CIA.

But tell him thanks for his service please.
