Fear of what? If we're really arguing if the Democrats are going to win in Tennessee of all places, then I'll take it. Personally, I don't see Bredesen winning, but its a maximum matchup from our perspective (best possible candidate for our side, bad candidate for yours) and it looks to be competitive too. No way, this should be even a race, given the demographics and prior voting history of Tennessee.
Either way, we can certainly backtest the validity of the claims made by Rasmussen using heavily African American precincts. I suspect you'll see a lot of 5% for Blackburn totals out of those precincts. And then there's the exit polling too that you can rely on for African Americans living in mixed areas. That has consistently shown the African American vote to be around 7-12 percent in major elections and lower in special elections.
Just like we've seen in the 2016 election for President and every special election since that time. Basically, somewhere slightly south of 10 percent of African American voters support Trump and the GOP agenda. That's about all he's going to get. If anything, he's actually been underperforming that low bar.
So basically, Rasmussen has found a traunche of African American voters that skews heavily towards Trump. No clue where they found them, because they certainly don't appear to be showing up in any election.
But hey, you're free to expect 36%. I expect you'll be very disappointed. Very disappointed.
