But history will be much kinder to him than it will to any of the Obama/Clinton swamp creatures. The media's willingness to cover for this stunning collection of skunks and snakes will at some point run out. But the stench of their underhanded abuse of public office will follow them forever.
I wish I could agree with you on the bolded part, but, as the saying goes, history is written by the victors and I don't believe that the principles upon which this country was founded and that made this country great for so many years will prevail in the end. The siren song of free stuff is just too great and the demographics are slowly changing in favor of even more free stuff.
To me, our country, our republic, is actually much like a patient dying of terminal cancer. I was sure when Obama won a second term, that it was all over with at that point, that there would be no coming back. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, came the Magnificent Orange Bastard.
I'm reminded of both my father-in-law and my dad, both of whom died of cancer. In their last days, in order to avoid suffering, both were put on morphine and basically became unconscious for several days. Then as the families gathered and waited quietly for the end to come, suddenly, almost miraculously, each awoke, alert, smiling, and spent several amazing hours talking with their families, reliving memories, laughing, and most importantly, saying things that had been left unsaid but needed to be said, coming to terms, accepting reality.
In my view, Trump has brought the country from the very brink of disaster that socialism, the cancer of all societies, was about to inflict upon us. America suddenly awoke, looked around, smiled, laughed, and began reliving the memories of what made us great.....reminding us all of what it is to be a great country, how we did it, why we did it, and what it meant to be an American.
Trump will get a second term and continue to breathe life into the country but after he's gone I don't hold out much hope that what he started can be continued.
Sorry to be so dour.
