Sure wish we still had David Montgomery, although he never really lived up to his potential. Come to think of it, he never HAD any potential.

Yeah, the guy only plays in the NFL, you’d think they could get his last name right. Pretty crazy.

I think Montgomery still has a couple years of college left.

Montgomery went to the same HS as famous MAC/ACC BB Official Lenny Wirtz.

Given that David Montgomery is the executive director of Campus Ministries at UT, I’m surprised he had time to play football. Plus he doesn’t look to be in football condition.

He must be in pretty good shape rushing for over 1,100 YD's and 11 TD's
last season for Coach Campbell. All those flights in and out of Ames have to be wearing on him though.

Thought I'd string them together to see if there was any sense being made.

Aah, there is some from TFBfan.
So I presume we're all on the same page, the article was referring to David Montgomery, correct last name, of ISU, not David Fluellen of UT or did the CM Montgomery, also correct last name, have a previously unknown life in the NFL?
Was Flu a Campbell recruit? Timing would have been about right wouldn't it?

Never heard of David Montgomery the football player, but if he plays for ISU maybe that’s what the guy meant. I read it this way, and given the Woodfill, Woodduck, etc history of writers screwing up names, I’m still not sure but what he screwed up “Fluellen”.
“Kareem Hunt, David Montgomery, Shakif Seymour. One thing I’m sure of, Toledo has a pretty recent rich history of producing productive collegiate running backs”.

current Iowa State Head Coach, Matt Campbell, recruited him. That’s right, the RB whisperer himself! “Kareem Hunt, David Montgomery, Shakif Seymour. One thing I’m sure of, Toledo has a pretty recent rich history of producing productive collegiate running backs”.
The boldface was the lead-in to your quote. It was about Campbell, not UT. The writer expectedly, is writing to a wider audience. Reasonable. David Montgomery as a Soph already made a publication's AA lists. so I'm pretty sure that's who the writer is referring, not Flu.
I'm trying to figure out this sentence
Quote:Shakif La’paris Nyrobi Seymour is a running back from Cleveland, Ohio. Hilariously, Holy Name is where he played his high school ball.
We may need OUR Montgomery to give insight into that one.

I think I remember reading that Flu was supposed to go to Buffalo but there was a coaching change and he ended up in Toledo. Not sure but this often happens.

Includes short video interview with Candle and also one with Seymour about his name.
easy to see why Shakif is a popular guy on this team. like Hunt he has this bright eyed eagerness about him and a belief in himself that comes across as genuine not arrogant.
