6’3” and 156? How can we verify this guy even exists? When the announcer says he disappears for long stretches during games, he means DISAPPEARS! Harvey Knuckles just got a new nickname-The Robust Man, since this guy now owns The Thin Man. Does SG stand for “Somewhat Gaunt”? I’m not sayin’ this guy’s thin but when he sits around the house he sits around just a tiny portion of it... somebody stop me.....

Looks a couple inches shorter than coach K in his twitter announcement. Have seen him listed as a PG and also at 180#.

The one short video I saw shows ability to drive the basket and dunk

Would be cool if he could defend too

Just saw the photo. The only way that guy weighs 156 is if he doesn’t have legs.

RE: MBB Commit
In one read I saw they listed him as a "power" guard. As one who plays downhill, draws contact and goes through it. May have other skills, like sniping but implication is more of the former.

Mindset over physical dimensions.

Moore looks similar to Harlond Beverly from Southfield Christian. Beverly also has an offer from Toledo but will probably end up at MSU or Ohio State

RE: MBB Commit
I like it. Moore had 9 D1 offers by the summer after his soph year so he's clearly a D1 talent. Had some Big10 interest but no offers yet and looks like one of those guys you need to sign early because he could end up with some bigger programs coming in late on his recruiting if he has a healthy strong sr year. The video I've seen of him mostly shows off his athleticism. A good dunker with a strong left hand and some good defensive potential. Haven't seen much of his shot and he seems to score mostly in transition or driving to the basket. He's an I want to get to the rim and score on you type of player, opportunistic. Not a pure pg but he has solid low left hand handle and seems to play with his head up. Size looks pretty legit 6-2 1/2 to 6-3 very lanky and a solid build. The 156 lbs listing was from his freshman/soph yr in Illinois, I believe, when he was first listed on one of the recruiting sites. If he's really the #5 player in Michigan that's a good sign. Stempin, Ingram and Jonjon were all guys ranked around 5 or 6 in the state who we were excited to get. He plays for a big time AAU team and at a high hs level (moved to Michigan for it). Hasn't gone the basketball academy or prep school route and same age as the typical 2019 class kid.

gotta like the recruit. elite athlete and seems like a grounded hard working kid. good feel for the game but will need to improve his ball handling and shooting for college. coach k doesn't whiff much on his top recruits and moore was a player they really wanted, thought they could get and needed signed early. he's a riser in recruiting rankings right now.

good shooter, at a glance his size and form remind you of navigato. maybe, a little more bouncy, has a couple nice dunks on his videos. youngest of 3 good basketball playing brothers. I think one plays for Butler. listed at 6-6 or 6-7. neither skinny nor imposing, but has a pretty lanky basketball build. mid major recruit including early offers from solid MAC and Valley programs.

Austin Etherington began his career at Indiana, graduated in three years (one was a medical redshirt year), didn't see the floor much, and then was in Butler's rotation off the bench for two years. He was ok; hung out around the perimeter on offense and played good defense.

We have a full roster of 13, with Darrington unable to play under current transfer rules (?) We have only two graduating seniors. Those scholarships are now filled. My concern is that we have done nothing to bring in some big PF/Center types to help our rebounding and interior defense. 10 of our 13 players are what I would call big guards (maybe a combo or two) or wing forwards.

My thoughts exactly "Detroit"

I was hoping for a 4 or 5 for 2019 class but I guess that will come 2020 with loss of Jackson and Knapke.... IT HAS TO HAPPEN THEN JUST TO BACK-FILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roster wise, Rockets actually have more height than Loyola or Villanova last season.

We will have 1 or 2 more scholarships in 2019 because a guy or two will transfer. That happens every year if history means anything.

Height yes...bulk/muscle, no. It would take 2 of our low post players taped together to equal that huge freshman from Loyola or either of the top-2 "big" men from Villanova. I know height and/or muscle aren't everything, and yet the paint has not been a welcoming place for us in recent seasons absent the singular presence of a Nathan Boothe or Steve Taylor, Jr.

Perhaps Coach K's philosophy will indeed pan out in the next couple seasons. I would be happy to see it.

RE: MBB Commit
The following are Etherington's Statistics from 8 Games he played for G3 GRIND against very good competition this past Spring on the AAU Circuit where Toledo coaches watched him play:

16.6 ppg.
7.1 rpg.
39.6% Three Point Shooting

IndianaBBallSource.com's Trevor Andershock says that he is a "big time vertical athlete who has done a good job of developing his skill set, especially his outside shooting". National Prep Hoops says that Etherington is a "huge pickup for Toledo".
