Depends on his ACT. If it's 27 or above he's good. Pretty easy to get grant money too. It will work out.

To be clear, I am not accusing Memphis of tampering. I believe Boyce initiated the request to transfer because his high school coach and teammates are going there. I also don't blame Boyce one bit.

Hardaway did encourage Boyce to sign with UAB. I do believe he was working behind the scenes to push Tubby out. If I was a Memphis fan, I would consider that to be a good thing. But pushing a kid to play somewhere else when he knows that he might be the coach at Memphis soon and knowing that kid will want to play for him, is not a nice thing to do.

But that's my opinion and will not be shared by anyone here

That might be possible for the players on East/Team Penny, but you can't really believe he had that much influence on players from all the rival teams around Memphis. The Tub just sucked terribly. I would not have advised someone I knew to play for the Tub.

Don't think that's an accurate take on what happened, but you are far from the only one who thinks it went down that way. Some national media agree with you.

Re Boyce, and not meaning to take a shot at the kid, he's just not good enough to risk some kind of tampering charge on. And Boyce committed last October, way before Penny or anyone thought a coaching change might happen.
