Quote:Trump's decision comes hours after North Korean Vice-Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, in remarks carried on the country's official KCNA news service, said it would not "beg the U.S. for dialogue" and warned that it could make Washington "taste an appalling tragedy."
Hui also called Vice President Pence a "political dummy" and characterized recent comments he made suggesting that North Korea could end up like Libya if doesn't come to the bargaining table as "ignorant and stupid."
"We will neither beg the U.S. for dialogue nor take the trouble to persuade them if they do not want to sit together with us," Choe said, according to KCNA.
"Whether the U.S. will meet us at a meeting room or encounter us at nuclear-to-nuclear showdown is entirely dependent upon the decision and behavior of the United States," she said.
"As a person involved in the U.S. affairs, I cannot suppress my surprise at such ignorant and stupid remarks gushing out from the mouth of the U.S. vice president," Choe said.
"In case the U.S. offends against our goodwill and clings to unlawful and outrageous acts, I will put forward a suggestion to our supreme leadership for reconsidering the DPRK-US summit," she added.
Im impressed by Trump as a negotiator. He's not afraid to walk away from the table to accomplish his goals. My guess is the rhetoric will soften and a meeting will happen

I am suspecting that the US determined that NK was not entering these talks in good faith but rather trying to make themselves look good and get whatever concessions the US was willing to give them without disarming.

NK has been dragged to this thing by China. Seems like they are throwing a temper tantrum. Like my 3 year old, let him sit in the room by himself until he knocks it off.
You cannot negotiate with someone throwing a hissy fit

Rocket Boy started playing games and Trump cut his water off. Once he started acting like he wasn't going to play ball, Trump gave him enough time to see if he was sincere about the meeting and accomplishing something worthwhile. Once he proved his intentions were suspect, Trump called the shot. Nice to have a President who is not going to bow down to the world's despots like Barry did.

China has no interest in a unified, democratic Korea sitting on its doorstep and will work dilligently to ensure it does not happen, so they will have to rein in Kim Jong Un, not the US.
Contrary to conservative fantasy, prior administrations have not been filled with bumbling idiots who simply needed a "businessman" to step in and negotiate a treaty and DJT is finding that out the hard way.

The actual results on the ground tend to prove otherwise. Based on the the results, calling prior administrations bumbling idiots would be a generous assessment. I would have preferred to walk away from the negotiating table than sign the agreements we accepted in prior negotiations. I know losing over and over again is tough for you guys, but in 7 more years it will be over.

Yup.
They need our “cooperation”, we most certainly don’t need theirs.

Hahaha.
You mean like Halfbrite, Clintoon or Kerry?
Maybe we can send “You’ve got a friend” over to NoKo and that’ll fix things. Lol
No deal is certainly more desirable than a bad deal.
F#%^ them. Their starving people will be getting their coup on soon enough, I’ll bet.
