1. “Appropriate” and “dignified” are not the first two adjectives that come to mind when I see Chuck Schumer’s name. But at least for today, the shoe fits. Well said, Senator.
2. I’m not happy to hear about the deaths of the protesters in Gaza and the diplomatic reaction from Ankara. Nonetheless, this move of the embassy is the right thing to do.
3. I haven’t seen “ericsrevenge” this excited since he tried to prove that Jesus was crucified on a Thursday.

Its a big deal to anyone who is a believer and studies the bible. We have some believers on the board, but only a small few who seriously dig into the scriptures.
And yes, He apparently was crucified on a Thursday. Friday is too late in the week to spend 3 days and nights in a tomb, then rose early on Sunday. Its not hard to see or understand that 3 days will not fit between Friday evening and Sunday morning. Plus there is nothing in the bible that suggests a Friday crucifixion.
That a pretty small issue compared to the 70th anniversary of Israel though

You need to do a study on how the Jewish people counted days. You are interpreting days from a Western framework. Any part of a day in Jewish thought is considered one day. Their new days started at sundown, not midnight. That's still how they mark days.
- Jesus was crucified on a Friday and died at 3pm. (day 1)
Joseph of Arimathea asked for Jesus' body and they were in a hurry to bury Jesus before the Sabbath began at sundown on Friday.
- From sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday (day 2)
- After sundown on Saturday (day 3)
The women came to the tomb early Sunday morning, after the Sabbath, to bring spices for his body. Jesus had risen sometime after sunset on Saturday. That would have marked the third day.

I've been well aware of the "Jewish" days for a while now. They are 24 hours just like our day but begin at sundown and end on the next sundown. Even Genesis chapter 1 establishes this. "The evening and the morning were the 3rd day"
It still does not fit with a Friday crucifixion unless you think he was still in the Tomb Sunday night. You already agreed they came to the tomb early on Sunday morning and he was gone, so he was not in there on Sunday night. Its got to be 3 days and 3 nights, even if only for an hour or so the first day.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
That just isn't possible with a Friday crucifixion, but it fits perfectly with a Thursday crucifixion.
There is nothing in the bible that suggests a Friday crucifixion, its simply a man-made tradition.
Its not really a big deal though, most people today don't even celebrate the crucifixion/Resurrection on the right week. Christ was crucified at PASSOVER, not easter. They are rarely the same week. Often weeks apart.

John 19
38 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. 39 He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.[e] 40 Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. 41 At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. 42 Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
The Jewish day of Preparation was Friday. It was the day the Jewish people prepared for the Sabbath, which began at sundown on Friday. So John's Gospel actually does indicate it was a Friday.

I understand your thinking here, I used to think the same thing.
Through further study I came to understand that "Sabbath" does not just refer to Saturday, it also refers to ALL high Holy days. The Passover is always a Sabbath no matter what day of the week it falls on, the day of preparation was the day before the Passover Sabbath.
The Passover Sabbath began at sundown that Thursday. It was followed by the weekly Sabbath the next day. This is why they could not disturb the tomb until the 3rd day, instead of the day after Passover. The day after Passover was a Saturday, another Sabbath.
Again, 3 days and 3 nights is not possible on a Friday crucifixion, but it fits perfectly with a Thursday crucifixion. Plus we know the Friday Passover AND Saturday were both Sabbaths.
The details get lost here between cultures. Again, its not really a huge deal.

I have read one line of thought that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday. I know there are different theories. I don't agree with your interpretation but I respect your opinion. The important thing is that it happened.

I don't really see it as an "interpretation" issue. It's more about understanding the Jewish Sabbaths and High Holy days and their customs. They really don't teach us those things in Sunday school or weekly sevices
"Three days and three nights" is pretty specific stuff. It just doesn't fit on a Friday.
Its not an issue worth dividing up over though for sure. Its just a small calendar detail from 2000 years ago before our modern calendar even existed.
God Bless.

Amazingly epic live update from Israel today by Amir Tsafari (with the valley of Armedeggon in the background) as you hear Israeli Jets taking off and passing overhead, then a few minutes later live reports of the bombing in Gaza. All this as Amir breaks down the current situation for Israel, its military strength and how the Bible is unfolding in such epic fashion.
Pick it up at the 25-minute mark for the best stuff and the breakdown of the current situation.

Yep...He probably sewed up a new voting block for the GOP going forward.

Utterly ridiculous.
Curious how Eric believes every part of the Bible apparently, except the parts about false prophets and prophecies.
And I'd also like to know how and when every Jew in the world will return to Israel.

You are such a sad, pathetic little troll.
I never said there were no false prophets and I never said ALL Jews will return to Israel. In fact the bible teaches most Jews will die in the tribulation. The video itself had nothing to do with any new prophecies, its simply an update on the situation in Israel and referencing a few specific chapters of the bible.
