Kendall Rogers tweeted that Jim Penders told him last week that Tim Cate would throw a live BP on Friday. If it went well, he would pitch out of the pen on Sunday.
Well Sunday came and there was a lead to hold for UCONN and Cate didn't pitch.
Did he not want him in a pressure spot or did the live BP not go well?

"He faced live practice batters Friday and again Sunday morning, reaching 40 pitches. He is likely to pitch out of the bullpen in the East Carolina series, Penders said.
“We’ve got a good thing going, but … we certainly want Tim Cate back, and he’s healthy now,” Penders said. “He just has to get over that last hurdle of knowing he’s healthy and letting it go. There’s such a mental component to it because he’s got to know he’s 100 percent and ready. And I want him begging me to get out there. I want him knowing he’s OK. We see that he’s OK.”
Penders said he doubts Cate would be ready to start during the AAC Tournament May 22-27 in Clearwater, Fla. He is likely to rejoin the rotation for NCAA regional play, assuming the team makes it."
Updated with RPIs for today's games. The only bad RPI game is UT-Martin. ECU, UCONN, Houston, and Wichita need to win their games. It'd be great for the conference if Tulane, Cincinnati, and UCF win.

RPI, as flawed as it is, doesn't account for power conference. The Big Ten is better this year than it has been in quite a while, although it is, in HuskyU's words, stinky.
Good to see UC putting a beatdown on the Buckeyes - the AAC has a chance at some nice RPI wins today.

Power conference status doesn't affect RPI, but it most certainly affects Committee at-large bid selections. Maryland getting in last year over UCONN was total P5 bias. (Consistently having zero AAC representation on Selection Committees also doesn't help.)
