I think we're all buying GS stock. I'd also buy ULM and South.

It's both, but it's weighted for how strong historically different types of returning starters correlates with changes in S&P ratings.
I don't like that at all. Also of note, I mentioned the big three we're all near the bottom, but Georgia State was the #4 team last season. Interesting that all four of the top teams last season are stacked at the bottom in returning production. It's just another reason I think this is going to be that once every four years restructuring of the SBC powers.
All three of the teams with new coaches are in the Top 4, and ULM should take a huge stride forward defensively.
Lot of us have been saying that both Troy and App have some monster questions to be answered before we can say it'll be business as usual.
App has had coaching turnover as well for the first time since they moved up.
Going to be an interesting year.
There are questions, yet optimism. Will this be a seamless transition or more of a rebuilding process? I'm eager to see the end result.
The core of the program is still intact, which gives me hope that this season will be a success.
Also, our recent success was on the backs of many coaches and players from the tailend of our FCS era. I'm excited to see how we look with a full stable of FBS recruits.
My bold prediction. We still finish top three in the conference.

I'm definitely buying USA stock. It might not pay off right away, but in about 2-3 years, it'll be solid

USA's schedule is rough from the perspective of competing for a conference championship, but not a bad one for competing for 'not being last'. USA's problem .... a lack of a functioning offense. Fix that and USA would be reasonably formidable. The pieces appear to be there.
I think USA's offense will be surprisingly functional. At the very least, Edenfield is going to screen pass folks to death at first since it's a "safe" play.
Campbell is flooding the roster with offensive linemen and running backs for next season. Look for a much more physical offense, and, yes, some screens.

With South you've got to ask yourself why they've managed to beat Miss State, San Diego State (twice) and good Troy and Ark State teams. IMO, it's because of their talent. Too many of those wins the past few years to be just luck.

Three of the bottom five are COOSA schools. They're 10/10.

I still believe Charlotte should be last. Until they produce results, they should always be last. Texas State has had some success at this level and was obviously in a rebuild. Evidence would only take a quick google search but they refuse to do that.

Coaching still matters more. I expect Troy and App won't be as sharp early in the season but late could be back to where they were last year.
We had an incredible offensive roster in 2016 that was loaded with experience and guys that made it to either NFL camps or rosters and we got crap offensive results with it.
BTW, if you take seriously recruiting rankings then you should definitely buy GS stock...the conference recruiting rank the last 4 years has been #2, #1, #5, #1.
That’s why I’m glad we play Troy early in the year. Should be a competitive game in Monroe. Much respect for the Troy program and what Brown has done. Hope to have some Troy fans make the drive to Monroe this year.

Chuckle:
Strengths: Moglia returns to lead a balanced roster. The Chanticleers weren’t consistent on offense, but they did show big-play potential and nearly pulled off an upset of Arkansas during their losing streak, falling 39-38 to the Razorbacks.

Offensive lineman for QB and running back...interesting choice. Flooding the roster with them rather than picking players with the measurables that generally line up with their position. We will see how that pays off for them Cotton.

Wow, thats a reach. You always buy low in college football for programs who have historically been strong or appear to be reinventing themselves to be strong. Every year when this discussion comes up, people constantly say "I'm buying low". Ya don't say? The arrow can't trend down for those at the bottom so you may as well buy it all up with your imaginary football money for the Sun Belt Stock Exchange (SBSE: +121.65).
