So as far as I am concerned they can take there newspaper and stick it where the sun does no shine.
It's not what we want, but it's what we deserve until proven otherwise lol.
Still pisses me off, I just hope it pisses our football team off.
I'm hoping it's on the bulletin board as well. For something like this countdown, it makes perfect sense. We're coming off a 2-10 season where we fired a coach and promoted from within. That ain't going to generate much preseason hype.

Well we finally get a pretty good football team and the average reader may think we are picked as one of the worst in the country at 118! I fully expect us to be at least in the 80's.

They likely just copied the template and forgot to change out the header.

Not sure why GS fans would be surprised at 115 after a 2-10 season.

I'm not sure there is an "average reader". Most of the traffic to the rankings probably occurs in G5 message boards like these.

Because we are Georgia Southern and we are supposed to Win. Anything else is unacceptable. The #115 is unacceptable because that is a # for a loser not a winner. Losing is unacceptable at Georgia Southern.

Maybe. But I would say Louisiana, Texas State, and Coastal have a much tougher road to a championship. Very unlikely that either of those three win a title.

Every team sucks at some point. Told you folks from GaSo and App that when you came roaring into the conference. That's what separates the real fan from the fair weather fans. I admire his passion. Gotta want the best to be the best.

By "GS fans" you mean "Valley Boy".
The thing about preseason magazine writers and pundits, they know your conference better than you do and college football overall better than you do, but don't know your team better than you do.
It's interesting to see where pundits think you are going to finish, but in the end it's settled on the field and the world and some of our fans are going to understand just how awful our coaching has been the last two years.

I don't know about that. They study the national scene year round. They absolutely know Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, etc better than we do. We, on the other hand, know our programs tendencies, coaching histories, upcoming breakout players, recruiting rankings, etc better than they do. We watch more of each-others games than they do. They might do a quick glance at those things for a few days when they need to write about the Sun Belt, but it's like they cover the Sun belt year round.

After going 2-10 and hiring a coach from that coaching staff, I can see how people on the outside looking in would be skeptical about our success. I’m not worried about it.

We got our major struggles out early hopefully with the two transition years being a bit rough

It comes to all teams. Regardless. Even Alabama has had some down cycles. Minimizing those separates you from the pack. The cool thing about the Sunbelt is I see 5 teams that can probably already do that and another one or two who could. The problem then becomes we all beat each other up in conference and the national perspective becomes one of "they all play a that same level and can't compete anywhere else". Winning OOC is paramount. Something stAte does on a regular basis.
