Neil Gorsuch’s Legacy Is Already Devastating
Quote:His nomination fight paved the way for a flood of hyperpartisan lower court judges.
The confirmation of Gorsuch heralded a year of lower court nominees created in his image—predominantly white and male, relatively young, and often hostile to consumer, worker, health, and environmental protections, as well as gender, racial, and LGBTQ equality. A disturbing number of Trump’s judicial nominees are actually lawyers who have built their careers denigrating LGBTQ people and their families. Analysis by Lambda Legal (where I work as a legal fellow) at the end of last year found that nearly 1 in 3 (16 out of 59) of Trump’s judicial nominees to that point had anti-LGBTQ records.

More hyperpartisan lower court judges for me!
Quote:The Senate has confirmed 29 of Trump’s judicial nominees, including 14 circuit court nominees. At this stage in their presidencies, Obama had six confirmed circuit court judges, George W. Bush had seven, and Bill Clinton had three. This feat is made possible by the breakdown in the judicial confirmation process that took hold in the Obama years and gained momentum with the Gorsuch fight.

Wish that RBG would retire and Trump could find someone to the right of Gorsuch to replace the old decrepit hag.

She'll probably die hanging upside down in her cave before retiring.

Lesson learned Harry.
That "nuclear option" is great when YOUR the one with the finger in the button, when it's the other guy, not so much.....

Speaks volumes about the divide between the two political parties when a leftist considers a Constitutionalist to be "hyper-partisan".

The left will do anything to make sure she stays. Article: "Dear Ruth Bader Ginsburg: If you need anything — blood, organs — take mine"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/...7520a67abd
Quote:Dear the Honorable Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,
How are you? No, really, how are you?
I’ve found myself thinking about you lately, and how things are going with you, and I just wanted you to know that I admire you very much and have some tokens of my esteem that you might enjoy.
Such as blood. If you have any need for blood, you can have the eight or so units of A-positive that are right here in my body. There’s also a gently used liver in here, lobes of it just lying around if you need them.
I am 32 years old and in good health. I take vitamins and fish oil. In the gym, I recently lifted almost three times your weight with my butt.
Do you like platelets? I have excellent platelets. I have had all my shots. If you, personally, ask me to, I will give up cheese. I can do eight push-ups and a 10-minute mile. My kidneys function well. I have two. Either one is yours for the taking. Both, if need be.
My cholesterols are in good ranges. I am confident that, whatever triglycerides are, mine are more than ample. I will be eating more vegetables, just in case. I have scads of nerves that you can have. Just take them. My skin would graft onto you beautifully. Bones, stem cells, a whole eyeball I don’t need, feet of intestines, feet. Just a ridiculous amount of health, way more than should rightly belong to someone with my standing in the world. It is not just. And I know you like justice.
I assume you see what I am driving at. My driver’s license says organ donor, but I have added a sticker stipulating that you get first right of refusal for all parts. If you need to keep me on life support in your house, just in case, while you slice off any bits that appeal to you, that is totally fine and my loved ones will understand. Believe me, they understand. We have discussed it.
I am somewhat bigger than you are, so my heart might not be a perfect fit. Have it cut to size.
Please find $50 enclosed for your personal trainer.
Thank you,
Rachel
P.S. If this offer does not interest you, please pass it along to Justice Breyer.

Exactly. Following the law instead of inventing it is "hyper-partisan."

How do we know she's not actually dead? She could be operated by pulleys and cables for all we know.

At 1/3, I think that would likely be a fair reflection of the country as a whole - at least as of 2013. It certainly isn't way out of line with the populace. You would think a concerted evil right wing plot would do much better.
The idea this is an anti-LGBTQ wave is a fail.

Their definition of homophobic has moved from "hate gay people" to "don't want to go against your faith by participating in gay weddings"

I've said it before, political appointees are not the solution but are instead the problem.
Besides, Obama made a dramatic number of what can only be described as racial appointees.

Oh yes.
The keystrokes were becoming too much to overcome at the time. I've had a rest, a siesta if you will, the winning just has to slow or stop.
