The student assistant had a hard night before posting that. Give him a break. :)

That’s how it was known for as long as I remember.
I’m sure if you used that address now, it would still be valid.

The campus of Arkansas state is considered its own city by the us postal service. That’s pretty much the only time you see it.

That is the valid address for the postal service. I always heard Penn State and us were the last two left with a separate name for the university. Don't know if it's true or not.

Interesting.

Up until July 31st, 1960 there was a Collegeboro, GA for the Georgia Teachers College, which is now Georgia Southern.

Last time it was on a map was in the mid 50's.

The highlight of my day during my Freshman Year was checking that PO box. I mean, it was stupid. I never actually got any mail outside of junk, but it was mine and no one else could have it.

I think the only mail I ever got was the once a semester when my parents would mail me a check to deposit to pay tuition. Its amazing what you could get excited when you first started college and went out on your own.

Yall are getting excited for the PO box for no reason. You could always use it for weed deliveries like a former player.

True Story. My roommate Freshman Year was an avid collector of that stuff. The guy claimed he was a polygamist supporter, and held three of four girlfriends (He was never sure how many) at the same time. All of whom knew and supported of this. He even ranked them 1-4.

I walked in one night after a late night IHOP run with friends to find him with Girlfriends 1 and 2...well...looking at that stuff. I turned and walked out and crashed with a friend the rest of the night. I may never unsee what I saw that day.

All the ugly girlfriends 1-4 stuff aside, if I were in charge of such things at stAte, I’d use the State University designation over Jonesboro. That sounds big time to me.

I may be wrong but even though it would probably get there I don't ever remember an address on campus being a Jonesboro address. It's always StAte University.
