1. Offense will be better than last year: Big RB Weh-Weh will help solve red zone woes. WRs are insanely good.
2. DL is going to be best in the Sun Belt again: Bingham @ DE is fastest player on stAte D @ 4.52
3. LB and CB are iffy at best.

How's the defense looking?
I didn’t get to go to the scrimmage, but should be better. However our offense scored like 4 TD’s on them, so I want to see some improvement.
Is it a legit QB battle? I imagined it's evans' job unless he loses it somehow
There’s no QB battle at all. Evans is the man. Both our 2 and 3 QBs from last year transferred out so we will be looking at a JUCO transfer and true freshman, maybe a couple of RS guys on the team as backups. Defense is improving but so is the offense. Should be an exciting team to watch this fall.

If you can't beat them, copy them I guess
Weh Weh was on the roster the past two years but torn an ACL in 2016 and was too tentative on it to really contribute last year. We'll have to wait and see how big of an impact he has this year.

Ah my bad. I remember Marcus green aka mr.kickoff returns. My brain went straight to QB battles because so many new names are flying around in the league

Spring football is fun because you learn about the new starters, position battles, incoming transfers/freshmen, and new coaches for some teams.
+1
Yup, you can get a lot out of it if (1) your athletics department and media put out enough good stuff and (2) if you can read between the lines about things.
Example: I can say beyond any shadow of a doubt from what I've seen including 1 scrimmage and a couple of practices that our current coaching staff is doing more actual teaching in practice and not just trying to "learn them how to practice and be tough". That's not what I get explicitly from any articles or tweets but what I can piece together. Willie Fritz has obviously had a big influence on how Lunsford carries out practice, which is a good person to try and emulate, honestly.
And having a QB position up in the air makes it more interesting as well, like gsualum17 says.

I was just making a joke because App has been done with spring ball for weeks. Spring is a relative term in Boone. Could get sunny and 55 in February then a blizzard in April.

We'll start the year healthy...I hope...since injuries pretty much decimated our DB's (there were times we had five freshmen on the field all at once). If anything good came out of 2017 for our defense is that we have tons of real game experience among the defense as far as 3-deep at some positions. It's made the competition even more intense this spring 'cause once you've been on the field you want to get back out there again. D-line might be a concern but I think we're perfectly good to go at linebackers and defensive backs.

FWIW, I got your joke.
Was really just a cheap attempt to revive a thread. Nobody was talking about anything.

They weren't the best last year, and Troy will likely have the best again this year. You guys lose the best DE to ever play in the SBC and 5-Star Dee Liner from DT position.
