That's unfortunate. The team doesn't have much room to talk, especially after their poor performance in the Valley the last five years or so.

Speaking of fans, quite the WSU contingent Thursday. Watched it on ADN and there were more Shocker fans at the game in Greenville than there have been for home games lately.

I guess I'm different because I like the smack talk and I thought there fans where pretty cool. I love baseball and smack talk is just part of the game, and how we played on Thursday there fans should talk smack. And then last night we where able to shut them up. That is whats fun about being a fan, this is a great conference and adding the Shockers to our league as made it all the better.

OK... I grew up in Indiana and went to UC, so I know a thing or two about obnoxious fan bases.

Yes, I'm talking about Zavier and the University of KAAAAAAAN-tucky. They are the absolute worst.

The only difference between UK and X fans are the number of flies buzzing around them.

Unless they're throwing things at you, spitting on you, spewing constant profanity or threatening to burn your house down, the straw heads can't be all that bad.

What specifically happened ?

There’s smack talk and then there is being mouthy douchebags. Also let’s not even discuss how security is told to act in favor of whoever gets to them first. What’s the purpose of having a home field advantage if an away fan can whine and our fans who show up game in and game out get thrown out?

Watching the 1st game via stream it does appear that WSU & their fans are excessively boisterous. But so what? That's probably a good thing unless it provokes more than bargained for. These are 2 top 20 clubs slugging it out for possibly the inside track to the conference. There's a lot on the line today for an early season AAC series so there will likely be more of the same today.

The two teams understand how critical this series will be in determining the regular season champion. It is a good bet it could decide it. Both teams are fired up and playing hard. Its just baseball at its best. It is not surprising that they are getting chippy with each other and the umpires. Nothing really out of the ordinary IMO.

I expect both coaches had a talk with their kids about this and we will see less of it today.

I love it, chippy players, fans talking smack and security needed to escort people out. Also you got two top 25 programs going at it for what maybe at the end the regular season title. This is a beautiful recipe for a great rivalry,and if Shockers fans are mouthing off mouth back and have fun with it. And then at the end of the game invite our guest out for a beer, talk s*** and see them next year in Wichita with the same intensity.

Honestly, those guys should have been tossed for wearing ultra tight, ultra short, torn jorts and going shirtless with ECU spelled out across the three. But I guess Event1 guys aren't fashion police :D

Wow our fan base has really changed if this is what bothers them, visiting team fans and players running there mouth. I remember back in the good old days we would go on the road, do some property damage and tear down the opposing teams goalpost. I guess everything changes, I will never forget those games at NC State and at South Carolina. I know that was football but man the school, fan base, everyone had a chip on there shoulder and passion. Now its something else, miss the ECU of back in the day.
