It's one guy who is talented enough for Hardaway, a guy who is all over some of the top recruits both locally and nationally, thinks is good enough to play for him. Good enough for a schmuck like me.

I just thought we never lowered expectations.

Seems there is a habitual "In _____ (insert coaches name) we trust"

I was hard on the previous coach for recruiting under expected levels and it will be fair to have the same concerns for the new staff.

However, I think we can expect a commit from Lomax at some point and it appears there are still some other high level recruits out there (not to mention possible transfers and grad transfers).

As long as an unranked player isn't the jewel of the class, but instead an accessory or a need-filler, (cough...shooting) I'm okay with that.

We’ll see. We are going crazy over #143 Lomax and an unranked player. We lost Jones (101) and Vanover (300+).

I like Lomax a lot and we really need a PG. But if this is his class, I’m underwhelmed.

03-yawn

Yeah, this guy is the definition of a miserable.

I haven't seen anyone going crazy. You also used 2 different metrics for your rankings. You used 247's composite ranking for Lomax of 143 but you used only the 247 ranking for Jones. He's unranked on all of the other services which makes his composite ranking unranked as well. I think most people are just going crazy that we have a coach who is out actively trying to get some really good players. He's done a lot of work in less than a week.

It’s early but it’s all about commits. If he locks down a Hagans or reclassified Wiseman, now we’re talking...

Commits? Not much left for 2018 and he just got the job.

Top 10 class this year? That's laughable.

Nope, glad he’s moved on, but Penny needs to meet the same expectations. Top recruiting classes, NCAA next year, keep all key players from last years team.

Doesn’t have to keep all of them, but most. And agreed...expectations don’t change, bar isn’t lowered. But Penny gets that

I think he’ll get good players. But, we’ll see...

Needs to keep:

1. Martin
2. Davenport
3. Parks
4. Johnson
5. Brewton
6. Thornton

Would like to keep:
1. Enoh
2. Nickelberry

In that order...

Tubby failed to meet expectations and was fired. Not sure I’d want to compare Penny with Tubby.

He left Memphis and entered the draft. He went undrafted. Not sure if he went to the G-league. So many injuries for him.
