I would, but our AD has stated that he's not interested in 2-1 deals. Although, now that we're a little more financially stable, I wonder if his tune will change.
He wouldn't take $1M for a guarantee game with NC or SC and a home and home? Ask him that versus the misnomer GS fans and your AD continue to use.
I'm sure he would take a near 1M payday plus a home and home. Problem is I doubt we have gotten anything close to that. We will see what USC is offering and if they honor the contract after the 1st away game.

There are some strong G5 home and homes as well such as Houston, ECU, and Boise out there as well.

They're just jealous and looking for excuses to make our deals look bad.
Plain and simple.

Some GS fans may be jealous but I'm good with our future schedules as they now stand. The only P5 schools I would like to see visit Paulson are Georgia Tech, Georgia, FSU, Miami and Clemson. That's a high bar and probably not going to happen for most of those so If I can't get those I don't really care about the rest of them. I'd just a soon go see Houston or BYU as to have some far flung P5 come to play at our place acting like they are doing us a favor.

If this is what you guys say it is, sure, I'd do it. But our AD has said he doesn't favor 2-for-1s where you don't get a check, and I agree with that - it's a complete ripoff.
Also, I wouldn't trade home and homes with Boise and BYU for UNC or Wake Forest (definitely Wake, but UNC is borderline). Maybe you guys love those these teams because they are in-state, but they just don't move the needle enough for me and a majority of the fan base would probably agree. Just like our fans would probably care more about playing Georgia Tech than you guys would.

ULM has Memphis next year at home. Not a P5, but fits our regional G5 approach.

RE: Future SBC hosting P5s
App State and Coastal will have the better opportuity to schedule P5 games. Reason for such are the regional P5 schools. North Carolina and South Carolina schools have been scheduling G5 games for many years and even scheduled some home and home going back to the 80's as I recall (vs ECU). None of this Univ. of Arkansas stupid stuff which still refuses to play any sport against any team within the state. Georgia nor Ga. Tech have noy scheduled G5 home and home as I recall but do think the Ga. Tech mind set may be willing to do so in the coming years. Alabama, Auburn, LSU etc., is not going to leave home to schedule G5 and Arkansas of course, in in a class of inbred stupidity by itself.

Liberty is in a good place because they are surrounded by midget P5 schools that they can offer easy road games to. The closest P5 schools to us are South Carolina, Clemson, UGA, GT, and Florida. Those schools rarely schedule out of conference away games with other P5 schools let alone G5 schools.

I'm sure our AD feels the same way, which is why he's more or less structured these 3-game deals and a home and home packaged with an additional money game.
GS fans throwing out taeks putting them down as "2 for 1's we wouldn't touch" is laughable ignorance.

This is a very nice payday series that is low travel cost for both South Carolina and Appalachian.
"The 2019 and 2027 games in Columbia will net ASU $900,000 and $400,000, respectively, according to athletics spokesperson Jonathan Reeder."
And AppState gets 2,500 tickets to each Columbia game to sell and profit from so there is another $250,000 for both games.
I guess with AState getting $1.8 from Michigan, that this looks like a small payday but with low travel costs and the fact that AppState can make and extra $500,000 for ticket sales for the game in Boone, it all makes sense.

That is how I feel at TXST. UT will never come nor will A&M. Texas Tech came once which was nice and Baylor is coming. Maybe we can get TCU one day but they have been trying to get h/hs with the likes of Ohio St and LSU.

I think GA Tech played at MTSU some years ago.

Clemson plays an away P5 OOC game every year.

You’re right even though technically that’s because of South Carolina, but my point was that the P5 schools near us will never be coming to Paulson Stadium.

$250,000 for the tickets? South Carolina is not selling App State tickets for $100/each. You will use quite a bit of those for player and staff comps plus if you take the band that’s 1.5 seats per member. Maybe 1,500 tickets to sell so maybe 90K

2,500 for each game.
5,000 x $50 = $250,000
You're right in that a solid chunk will probably be used for player/staff, etc. but we're still bringing home a big sack of cash from 5,000 tickets.

With UNC in 2022, ECU in 2023 and USCar in 2025, maybe we can get KBS expanded by a couple thousand seats before those games take place which could lead to another $250k+ in revenue.

Sorry for not writing that poorly. I was guessing $50 x 2,500 for each of the two games is a grand total of an additional $250,000. Maybe more as I suppose the price could be over $50. But you are right, I would guess that a number of those may be comped for some some people.
