Guessing you did not see them play this year. They should have fired the team and kept the coach.

I didn't see them much this year. I never liked the Kevin Stalling hire, was just never a good fit. I'm sure there is some talent there, but I doubt there is anything from there for us.

RE: 2018 Transfer List
I didn't watch them play at all this year, but they had a bunch of freshman. I'm assuming they have some guys with talent, or at least some big bodies.
Danya Kingsby is a JUCO PG that has signed a LOI with Pitt, and Terrell Brown is a 6-10 freshman.

Ryan Luther was a starting senior big man this year until he got hurt and missed most of the season. He will probably get a medical redshirt this year. He would be available to play immediately. His brother plays at Elon.

Per Jeff Goodman, apparently Kalob Ledoux, SG, McNeese State's leading scorer, has told ESPN he is transferring. 6-3, shot 37% from 3-pt, shot 43% from the floor overall and averaged 15.0 ppg. Would be a great transfer pick up. What do y'all think?

I don't know much about him. He's a Louisiana kid, and I don't see any connection between us and him that make it seem like a possibility. Seems like he's trying to move up conferences, so we would fit the criteria. I would imagine he finds a home at one of the Sun Belt teams though.

With those stats, he very well could draw interest from a middle of the road SEC team.

6'6 Freshman David Caraher (Chapel Hill) has been granted his release from Houston Baptist. Was named Southland Freshman of the Year & 3rd team All Conference.
16.2 PPG
7.2 RPG
1.9 APG
Going to be in high demand
Maybe C.B. has a Chapel Hill connection here. Looks like a great player

The kid is too indecisive. First committed to Butler out of HS then decommited and went to Houston. Now he is leaving Houston?

RE: 2018 Transfer List
To be fair it is Houston Baptist, not Houston. HBU is in the Southland, a low major conference. His game could definitely translate to the Mid-Major, maybe even Major level. I'd be very happy to see the staff recruit him. There has to be some connection with him being from Chapel Hill

Caraher decommitted from Butler after Chris Holtmann left for Ohio State. He's a three star that had quality offers and he has ties to North Carolina, and potentially McGrath. Definitely interested.

RE: 2018 Transfer List
There is some discrepancy regarding the dates he decommitted from Butler. According to this article, he decommitted his junior season prior to Holtmann's decision. So, I don't know. I certainly haven't followed this kid.

From this article, I'll point out that Caraher transferred from Chapel Hill to Wesleyan Christian. Wesleyan Christian is where Harry Giles and Theo Pinson played, so it's safe to assume that McGrath is familiar with Wesleyan coach Keith Gatlin.

I didn't even think about the Wesleyan Christian connection, but you're definitely on point with that.... Holtman left Butler in June so I highly doubt he waited that long to decomitt. Houston Baptist was his first D1 offer and they also had 2 other players from the Triangle in his recruiting class(Interesting). I would imagine they went there together. ESPN gave this guy a 4 star rating... WOW

Looks like Yurtseven may transfer or go to the NBA. Now that would be a great get for us.

Three star that averaged 15 and 4, plus a 3:1 TO ratio and is a 95% FT shooter.

If his options are transfer or go to the NBA, than I doubt he's looking to "downgrade" to a mid-major school. He gathered enough court time and attention this year that would land him on another P5 roster, especially if he's considering an early jump to the NBA.
I like shooting for the stars and all, and the worst he can say is no, but that's unlikely.

All of that would be a good get for us right now. I also worry about that size though. Will they be ready for the bigger and more physical guards around the CAA? I put more stock in TO ratio and scoring though, because it's been proven time and again that smaller guards can absolutely still compete in the CAA, and at high levels.
