I don’t see Barbee leaving Cal. I do like the possibility of Roccaforte though.

Roccaforte has been far removed from Calipari for many years now and has done his own thing; makes no sense for him to sabotage Penny on behalf of Cal, as it’s being insinuated here

I would be surprised if Matlock doesn't make the short list. Penny is going to want some guys that he trusts particularly with it being his first college gig. Not sure if he could trust Barbee.

Matlock is a year older than Penny and can’t get a head coaching job.

Not only would working for Penny be a six figure job in his hometown at his aluma mater, if this works out he might be able to get a head coaching job after assisting at low visibility jobs stAte, UTEP, Auburn, and Mississippi.

I'd be all in for Madlock... he's a Tiger, good experience, knows the contacts and the region and just seems like a really good guy. I hope he ends up on board.
