Since the ASU AD is pretty transparent, we should hear from him soon about your TV deal and what the monetary value is.

Per school, per minute.

It is almost a sure thing we doubled and a good chance we tripled. We were only getting 100k/year/school so basically nothing. My guess is that we will be getting 250K/year/school, which would be similar to what CUSA is getting in there current TV/streaming deal. I've read the comments over on their board and frankly, even if the pay is less it is still a better deal then what they have. It will be interesting to see what the new CUSA TV deal will be. The current one ends next year so we should hear something soon.

My wish is that we get 500k+/school and they limited each team to 1 home midweek game per year. The ESPN+ pay service is not a big deal and will make it easy to find all SBC games and with funding to upgrade equipment they should all be high quality productions. They may offer us more per school if they feel they could easily recoup that with subscribers to ESPN+.

Since ESPN is also paying to upgrade the broadcasting facilities at each school, is that figured into how much money each school gets? If it is, I could see us getting 400k-500k per school.

I hope y'all got 5X what you got before. Good to hear with other conferences negotiating new deals.

CUSA seems to be the only conference dropping. Maybe that's an outlier.

If it has not come out I am not feeling good about it. How has a reporter not asked this yet?

We might not find out until after ESPN+ launches

Yea. How much more revenue? Is this contingent revenue.

No way should we have locked up our content for a long term without serious and firm consideration being provided

Someone asked on the conference call they had but Benson said the terms wouldn’t be disclosed. I wonder if some FOIA requests to schools would turn up terms / contracts.

It will eventually come out. At the very least, conference tax filings are public and can be reviewed on line. But those wont be available for a while. Harry Minimum got the real scoop on the CUSA deal using FOIA requests at public schools (ODU). Basically, the CUSA AD's and commissioners were misrepresenting their new deal. Interestingly, when I pulled up the CUSA tax returns, it turned out they were kinda misrepresenting their old existing deal as well. The Tax returns showed it was no longer 14 million a year (turned out it had already been cut to 10 million by the networks when the league lost the first wave of teams to the AAC). However, it should be noted the schools were being made whole with exit fee payments---so it had little immediate effect on CUSA school budgets.

For what it's worth heard from a guy who says he heard from a guy that it works out to just under $500,000 per team. The guy I heard it from can be all over the place sometimes dead on, sometimes picking dandelions in left field. Didn't recognize the name of the person he said he heard it from.

My confidence level is such it's not something I'm writing about on my site.

That would seem like a decent ballpark number given how you guys signed over everything to ESPN like MAC.

And we didn't accept the number of Tuesday and Wednesday games the MAC did.

Yeh, the MAC sold their product for more money, but lost all their late season Saturday games. Glad the Belt didn't go that way. I'm happy with the $5 a month price tag that will allow me to catch every App BBall game and all the conference championships for other sports. Hopefully regular season Baseball, Softball and Soccer make it to ESPN+

That is an assumption at this point. Did I miss how the 10 ESPN linear tv games would be split by day of the week?

I honestly think that's about right. The MAC gets around $900k per school a year for ~25 weekday games a year. For just under half that and a championship game no reason ours should not be at least $400k
