Don't overthink it. Why did Ohio State lose twice to Penn State? Duke lost to St. John's, etc. etc. You can have an off night. If we lose the next three games in a row then it's time to be real concerned.
K well i'm going to overthink....I'd like to believe Ohio State has largely overachieved and Duke is a bunch of freshmen. Easy to overlook Penn St. and St. John's, especially when you've beaten a lot better teams. Not as easy to over look a team that had you down 18 on your home court. Especially when you have a group of veterans.
I'm beginning to think we don't play enough good teams in this **** league. Cronin kinda puts it on the guys to figure out how to win. 5 games + conference tourney to figure it out. Still hope.
Dude, St John's lost 11 straight before Duke. You don't just "overlook" a team that bad. It happens.
They had lost a lot of really close games. And have since won 4 in a row. They'd be middle of the pack in our conference.......I can do this all day babayyyy
I take no shame in losing at Houston it just concerns me the way we shrank in winning time. Why didn't Mick do anything to get post touches?

Maybe similar but unless UC falls apart and drops 2 UC have the outright AAC reg season conf championship.

didn't get to watch or listen to the game but i always prop the little one onto my lap to watch the highlights on the youtube. it takes a few days after a loss to do that. actually, we haven't watched the florida or x ones yet. so them's more than a few days. i take every loss too personal. i'm making great strides though. i was just becoming detached, momentarially. it's better than kicking sh!t or getting in a sour mood. far too sour. i accept that sh!t just happens. 'specially so when you're pinning your fortunes on an amateur hoops team lord bless 'em. that don't mean i can't still be a fan. can't break a broken heart and such

Mick needs to retire the offense of having the guard walk the ball up the court
dribble it around for 25 seconds or pass it around the horn.
Too much fire power on offense not to get your playmakers the ball in good position.
Why wait till under a minute to clear out and let Evans go 1 on 1?
Gary rarely gets the ball in good position on the block.

One game. Give Houston credit. They played hard as hell and played good D and were allowed to slap and bump all night. They did to us what we normally do to teams....made us uncomfortable with the ball in our hands.

Yep. Not using it as an excuse, Gary said otherwise, but from reading this last night about looking flat and fatigued, I think travel etc. was an issue. I didn't like that they had to come back after Sundays game, then fly back Wednesday. They stayed in Florida for that 2 game trip.

Yep, when the other team is playing great defense, you have to hit jump shots. They didn't the last 35 minutes of the game and Houston did. I really wish UC could get someone like Corey Davis. He's tremendous.
Edit: Should still mention I though the offense Cronin ran was beyond bad. Please retire that high post rub play.

Yes! I thought they were making strides this year but lately it is rearing its ugly head again.
When Jenifer is in the game he at least gets up the floor quickly. It forces the defense to hustle, even if UC doesn't attack the basket right away.

We played UCF on a Tuesday I believe. I could be wrong, but I thought you couldn't stay awy from school for more than X number of days. I'm sure the travel didn't help.
But hats off to Houston, they played extra hard, made big shots and played a great game. Let's get back on track against Wichita State.

Look, the offense was not totally to blame for that loss. Either by design or just very rough play on defense they sent us to the line 24 times in the last 10+ minutes of that game. For a team and game that was neck and neck that's a huge amount of ft's, heck almost a clip of 100 over a 40 minute game. They weren't lumped in the last 2 minutes of the game. They did a good job of taking our offense out of it, and trading 1's and 2's for 2's and 3's. Probably not a strategy that would work playing from behind, but it worked. We missed a couple wide open looks from 3, but it was rough going getting a shot off. Defensively, we were late quite a bit, and that ultimately was our demise.

Do you realize that Houston has more Top 50 Kenpom wins than UC does, 3-2. We have two wins against top teams, Houston and UCLA. Why do we think UC is going to make this deep run in the Tourney, not seeing it.

Because UC is a top 5-10 team by nearly every good metric we have. They are absolutely one of the favorites to get to the final four.

Houston is currently 3-2 against Kenpom Top 50 and they are done with playing anyone in that range. UC is currently 2-3 with two games remaining against WSU. If we at least split those two games UC finishes 3-4 but there is a chance at 4-3. That said, Cats don't have a bad loss. If you're going to talk about Top 50 KP wins, how about the fact that Houston has lost at home to Drexel (254) and on the road at LSU (62) and Tulane (165).

LOL, where were you for the last 2 months? Those 16 straight wins must have had you all backed up.
I'm amused by people who would waste their time following UC just so that they could pop up after a loss and talk sh!t. Of all the things to do in life, this is the best you can come up with?

They are like spring crocuses waiting patiently to poke their shoots above the snow at the first rays of sun. I can’t imagine the psychology behind following a team and just quietly suffering through extended periods of success while waiting to complain...seems very English.
Chunks of this fanbase still need happy meds. Sports can’t be just about waiting to b!tch and moan about a team ranked in the top 10.

I'm on here everyday, unlike you. I expected more from BC#1, he normally doesn't trash people. Just because I don't believe that this team has played super competition and that the metrics have UC overrated a bit and I don't believe they have a long final four run in them, doesn't mean that I'm am not a huge UC fan and I do want them to do well, I just don't think they are going to do as well as some people think. If you don't like what I say, feel free to block, as you never have anything of importance on here anyway. Good day.

When will everyone realize that Mick will only utilize the bench when we are playing the weaker teams on the schedule. Every time a big game comes up on the schedule the 8-9 man rotation shrinks down to 6. Can't run Evans, Clark and Cumberland out there for almost 40 minutes and expect them to have the legs to put up good shots.

When they don't make the elite eight or final four you'll be the first on here bitching. I'm at most games, are you. I played a sport at UC, did you? Of course not, you have know idea what it takes. Good day.
