What is the relevance of this? Obviously..If you don't make much...you don't pay much in taxes. So...You won't see a large difference in your take home pay. This is tax cut...not a welfare handout. The Koch brother will still be paying a ton of taxes.

Personally...Id like to have seen spending cuts along with the tax cuts..but..the overall benefits to the economy should still be large. Next year at this time people will be singing a different tune about this tax cut.

Envy is not a good look. Also, only elitist mock a lady for saving some of her hard earned money.

PBS is just ticked off because they don’t benefit from the tax plan. It’s already a non-profit, so no taxes, and it’s executives are overpayed residents of high tax states, so they’re losing their deductions.

$250 more per month for us.
We're empty-nesters so we didn't expect much since we don't have child deductions...
Looks like we are going to finally realize what we were promised we would receive in ACA savings.
Thanks Trump!

The Democrats have virtually every media outlet in the nation reading the Democrat morning email blast unedited as “news”. You irrational fear on the one outlet willing to tell both sides of the story is telling. Seems to me you know the Democrats can’t win without complete control of the propaganda apparatus. Sad.

This tax cut was fundamentally an effort to bring our corporate tax rates in line with the rest of the world. The rest is window dressing. Its success will be measured in a metric that is almost impossible to quantify--how much investment comes to the US to create how many jobs as a result of removing the tax penalties associated with doing so.

Why do you hate regular people keeping more of the money they earned?

You do know it’s not the governments money and they let us keep some, right?

Course unless you’re on the governments dime, then I guess you would see it that way. Wouldn’t know.

Why do democrats hate that people get to keep more of their money? I mean if you don’t like it Mach, send your paycheck to the government, and stop bitching about it.

I said from the beginning I liked the tax cuts but I feel that spending should have been cut also. Im not down with deficit spending...never have been regardless of which gang is in power. I do find it terribly ironic and dishonest that the left is screaming about deficit spending now...like this is a new problem?

Because there is a large faction of Socialists in that gang that believe the money belongs to the State not you.

Umm, so this projected $1.5 trillion increase in the deficit is going to cause inflation, when the nearly $10 trillion already baked in by Obama isn't? Umm, how?

Bottom line, we aren't going to sniff a balanced budget without a consumption tax. We price ourselves out of the world market any other way.

You deficit spend when the economy is contracting you pay down the deficit when the economy is expanding. You said that Owl at one time before this current administration. There was absolutely no reason to do what we did other than to pay back the donors to the Republican Party. That’s hould be shouted form every roof top and it’s not. Now if you want to give corporations a tax break to make them more competitive in world markets fine. But add a VAT. Absolutely zero reason to add to the deficit when you have an expanding economy.

The sickest part. This was sold as good for jobs. Corporations were already sitting on record profits. They aren’t just going to hire more people to hire more people. The vast majority of the savings is going to go into stock buybacks

Generally agree. Except we don't really have an expanding economy. We had an economy that has been treading water since 2008. Now the tax cuts for corporations appear to be pushing us toward expansion again. The real danger now is that things will heat up too fast and bring about another downfall. A VAT would actually temper that somewhat, also VATs typically have less downward imp[act on growth than other taxes.

The bottom line is that both parties are going to punt the debt and deficit back and forth until one side bites the bullet and does a VAT. Europe has a more comprehensive safety net, including universal health care, and offers a more tax efficient proposition to investors (or at least did, until our tax cut). How do they do it? Part of it is that we are paying for their defense. But a much bigger part of it is the VAT.

I wish I made enough $$$ where I could've gotten $1.4M.

But because I don't I begrudge the fact that others get to keep more of their money rather than "patriotically" giving over their money to the government.

I'm petty like that.
