DOJ tells Devin Nunes releasing memo would be "extraordinarily reckless"

Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd told House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes in a letter Wednesday that releasing a memo prepared by the committee's staff alleging abuses at the Department of Justice and FBI would be "extraordinarily reckless."

Republicans have been urging for the release of the memo, which, as Boyd pointed out, likely contains highly classified information. In the letter, obtained by CBS News, Boyd highlights how crucial it is that the committee not release the memo to the public for reasons of national security. The memo describes the FBI's supposed abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Other agencies can scour and redact that memo. The DOJ is not the end-all-be-all department over classification and methods.

The DOJ has been stonewalling for months. Now they are the ones wanting information. Too f8cking bad.

The congress has oversight on the DOJ. Its not the other way around.

The DOJ needs to be focused on doing their job, like firing the people that need to be fired. The IG has already said he is turning over the "missing" text messages so that the appropriate department heads can take the needed administrative action. That means there is info in those text messages that require administrative actions to take place.
