Me too jumps the shark
Woman pursues high profile man while on date with someone else. Dates him. Has sexual activity. Ends it by saying no. Complains about sexual assault because she didn't enjoy it. And gets supported by Metooers.

I take these on a case-by-case basis.

A lot of these are necessary, particularly in Hollywood, to flush out creeps, pervs, coercers, hypocrites, etc. and end a corrupt system.

This one sounds like trash though. I'm glad some are calling her out on this one.

I think more them some are calling it out. My wife brought this story up yesterday and was saying when accusations are based on some BS like this it hurts women instead of helping. Apparently most of the people on the thread she was commenting on agreed.

The accuser wanted to try it in a court of public opinion and this one is going to back fire on her and possibly the movement as a whole.

All I can say is thank God that I'm past the point in my life where I am out looking. I wouldn't enjoy playing by these rules.

After James Franco won a Golden Globe award, he had an accuser came out against him as well. He is considered one of the good guys for speaking out for women and gay rights. I think the MeTo jumped the shark on James Franco as well.

The only good thing is that a lot of these people won't reproduce and instill their values in children.

"A recent survey by The Economist/YouGov found that approximately 25 percent of millennial-age American men think asking someone for a drink is harassment. More than a third of millennial men and women say that if a man compliments a woman’s looks it is harassment."

My son is still in the target age range, but he's in Tokyo with a live-in girlfriend. And he's already been to spend a weekend with her family at their place on Kyushu, which is kind of final in Japanese society.

One of my female classmates in college was talking about how she was overweight and all that, but she was not fat or anything. I told her that whoever told you that you are fat must have their eyes check, but you look fine and healthy to me. She told me thank you for saying that. It is this whole fat shaming going on that is making women and girls look deathly thin. It is these sick perverted males want their models and actresses want them to be a certain look. It makes these women look weaker and easier to take advantage of that. Somebody like Queen Latifah would knock their heads off if they tried to sexually harassed her.

I agree, Queen Latifah would knock their teeth out. You see, she's a lesbian.

While that is nice of you I think you’re conflating two seperate issues.

I’m the first to say a girl looks better with 5 extra lbs than 5 under but that’s not the same thing as a 300lb fatass claiming she is the new normal in a country facing an obesity epidemic.

RE: Me too jumps the shark
The fact that this hit piece received almost universal condemnation is a good sign I think. If everybody started piling on and calling for his head, that would be a sign the movement jumped the shark. Seems like common sense is prevailing here.

By this woman’s own account, she wasn’t forced into anything. He was pushy sure, but she could have stopped this at any time. She wasn’t wasted, and they had a consensual encounter. When she finally did tell him no, he immediately stopped.

The fact that this came out right after he won a (well deserved) award is just gross. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt his career too badly.

Garbage like this makes it harder for real assault victims to be taken seriously.

RE: Me too jumps the shark
I have a 23 and 27 year old sons.....

I'm very afraid for them and told them to be very very careful. To be honest Its going to come a time when a male needs a recorded statement of YES or a signed statement before doing anything.

Now I have a question, who here has went out on a date in your late teens to early 20s and you parked somewhere or go back to your or her place (if you had one). You start kissing and and your hands start moving on the leg and up to the ass or the thigh. The girl laughs and says stop that pushing your hand away playfully. A few minutes later you are kissing again and you try to make your move and this time she lets you rub for a few seconds before laughing again and says no no no....

So you start talking and she reaches in to kiss you and rubbing your chest which gives you the sign it's OK to try again. At least to you that's the way you take it.

Now I know to a couple of you that's sexual abuse, if you tried it the first time and to at least one of you it's probably prison time of 5+ years. If you tried it the 2nd time That's the world we live in.

To me it's dating and trying to do what males have done since the beginning of time....MATE. You are not forcing anyone to do nothing they don't want to. You are not groping a unwilling female. Girls like to play games. Some like to play hard to get. Some don't want you to think they are easy. Hell most are as horny as you but just want you to work for it.

Who here has not played that game at some point in their teens to mid 20s? If you say you stopped the first time.....

you probably still using that hand

People just need to be kinder to each other. Maybe manners will make a comeback.

Unless your 23 and/or 27 year old sons are VIPs that could get ruined by the media, they are probably ok to play the game we did. The law is still on their side.

Yeah, but the law doesn't really matter until much later on if a dude is falsely accused. By that time a life can be ruined. I'm also glad I don't have to deal with the nonsense but will definitely being having a nice long talk with my son when the time comes.
