They are progressive and require medical and psychological attention.
The idea that Joe grabbed Tubby's arm and reminded him of the biggest name in this city is DAMNING.
This has gotten beyond bizarre.
Just shut the basketball program down.
Good grief.
I'm convinced the only reason Tubby still works is so his kid will have a job, and mom probably makes him do it. Because it can't be his competitive nature because if had one he'd be kicking ass about recruiting and it can't be pride for self-evident reasons.

I think they were sitting down in Lubbock and planning retirement.
Then out of bizarro world Memphis came calling.
They were like really?
Seriously?
It took it awhile to set in but then they were like **** yeah.
We'll do it.
I bet dollars to donuts they have not sold their home in Texas.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if they ever bought a home in Texas. It was not their cup of tea.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, and I mean 0% doubt, that the Tub took the Memphis job so he could give his worthless, breastfeeding son an AC job. He also took the Memphis job with full intentions of grooming the breastfeeder to take over the program when he retires. He knows that Memphis would be a much better program for the mannequin to take over instead of TT.

And TT wouldn't let TS give Saul an AC job because:
1) They learned from the Bob and Pat Knight experience.
2) TS' nepotism with Saul was a major factor in his dismissal from Minny.

RE: Jason Smith's stories re Tubby's thousand-yard stare
Think about it. There has to be some truth to all this because, if Tubby wanted to recruit, he certainly could.
5 teams to NCAAs, National Championship, one of the early African-American coaches, if not the first in major college basketball, old and respected, so should get along with parents, uncles, guardians, his history should give him media access for whatever he wants to say, an historic top 25 program, top 10 in attendance and top 25 in facilities, a large crop of D1 talent grows up and plays within 20 miles of campus, NBA team in town, plays in NBA arena, direct access to NBA players, coaches a team that has placed dozens of players in the NBA, and been to the final four 3 times.
He obviously is using none of these advantages (or any others) and is in the middle of the worst recruiting season in Tiger history.
So give me a better explanation why Tubby ain't doing do about do. Come on, tell my why Liberty University's program is in better shape than the Tigers. Tell me why we can't sign a top 200 recruit. Tell me.

No doubt. You play the hand you're dealt. Tubby was dealt a damn near full house and decided to go play nickel slots.

Tubby did not inherit a full house- that is just stupid to even say- There is a reason Pastner was run off and it aint that we had a full house.

So you are saying all of the 187 teams ranked ahead of us had it easier? We have what I say we have. Pastner was run off because of Pastner, you would think an experienced, seasoned HOF coach that has been all over would know a thing or 2 walking through the door, or at least 2 years later. And just for the stupid P5 argument

4 top 100 players on the roster when he walked in the door. But keep telling yourself that he inherited a dumpster fire.

cmt you are not getting the point:
Tubby was not dealt a full house. He was dealt a program with great potential that was on its way down . He has added gasoline to the fire of the freefall of Tiger Basketball, but he did not come in to a program or roster that was on the upswing.

there is a lot of room between a dumpster fire and a full house.
Tubby has done a terrible job but acting like everything was awesome when he came in only adds to the misconception that our fans are unrealistic

RE: Jason Smith's stories re Tubby's thousand-yard stare
Ok gotcha
I am glad Pastner left and there were good reasons. And yes, the program was in bad shape for Memphis, but still a relevant program in the college basketball world, and Tubby inherited several good players that he ran off before during and after last season.
We are ranked 188 today TUBBY
end of 2017 season 101 TUBBY
2016 75 PASTNER
2015 87 PASTNER
2014 36 PASTNER
2013 37 PASTNER
2012 12 PASTNER
2011 90 PASTNER
2010 49 PASTNER

Where did you get we were #12 at the end of 2012? We were somewhere in the 18 range but not not top 15 that I remember.
