"If I never play in the NFL again, so be it. I plan to co-write a book on my experiences and hope that I can invoke real change for those who are still oppressed in this country."

"...so be it."

The best part is he considers himself some sort of martyr of grandeour. When in fact, he antagonized police, more than half the country, openly celebrated our nation's enemies... but somehow he's the victim.

We already know his "experiences". Mixed race kid, adopted into an upper-middle class home, excelled in athletics, GIVEN a top-notch education, afforded the opportunity to play a sport for a living (something many young boys and girls dream of doing), paid multi-millions, and then pissed it all away by being attacking the one patriotic event during a football game. Let's remember... he didn't stand to lose anything by his actions and didn't think he would. He chose to protest a song. He didn't protest his own playing time. He didn't refuse to take the field. He didn't refuse his paycheck. He chose to protest a song, knowing it would anger people. Yet, he's shocked when that anger combined with his sharp decline in on-field production resulted in his inability to be on an NFL roster.

What a tool.

To SuperFly's point, what Chris Long did is walking the walk and truly invoking change through personal sacrifice....

Quote:Chris Long, the Eagles defensive end, will donate his entire salary this season to charity.

Long announced this week that he would send his last 10 game checks to educational charities in the three cities where he has played, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Boston. This season he said his first six checks would go to to scholarships at a private school in his hometown, Charlottesville, Va.

Long, 32, is to make a base salary of $1 million this season.

“I’m playing the entire 2017 N.F.L. season without collecting income because I believe that education is the best gateway to a better tomorrow for everyone in America,” Long said in a statement.

He told The Associated Press on Wednesday, “I think we can all agree that equity in education can help effect change that we all want to see in this country.”

not exactly, Ollie.. Vince McMahon sold a bunch of his WWE stock to put it into Alpha Entertainment, but right now, the only thing we know is he relicensed his XFL trademark.

But nobody knows (as of yet), what he's planning to do with it.

One story was he's going to restart the XFl, another was he wanted Alpha to help with the Lingerie Football League, a third was he was going to join in on an already existing "minor league/developmental" league and a fourth was he wanted to launch another streaming service (this one focused solely around American style football).

NBA ratings up on same day despite NFL competition

You can debate the cause but the NFL is facing some struggles, many of which are self inflicted

When these jokers go on strike in 2020, the golden goose will be cooked

They over produced it for years and now with a commercial break at every whistle it’s just gotten way too hard to sit through. I feel bad for the slobs still buying seats and paying $11 for a Bud Light in a plastic cup. Walked away from my seats 10 years ago and love having Sundays free again. It’s like I got a big raise and an extra weekend day every week in the fall.
