There is a crazy rumor I heard (which is probably not true) that the XFL could return as an Arena league/ indoor football type league.

I've never understood this, you have yourself and an entire staff under you whose job it is to find and hire a coach. If you have to bring in outside help you're admitting incompetence.

I give Compher credit for recognizing how important this hire is and getting some help. However, the one thing that scares me is we used this firm to help us in our football coach search too, and that ended with an underwhelming hire. Hopefully the basketball guys are better.

More likely that Compher has a buddy over there and he’s funneling him some money. Just looked it up, the founder of college sports assosciates is Todd Turner who was the AD at NC State for part of the time Compher was the assistant AD there. Todd Turner is also a UNC grad...

Dave Odom is in charge of the Basketball consulting so hopefully he will do his best for ECU

I cannot remember the details, but I heard a pundit (FWIW) state that the process he is using indicates reviving a version of the XFL.

The NFL is losing viewers and interest and perhaps he sees an opportunity worth the risk. The vested and entrenched interests will not be pleased and it will be fun watching and reading their reaction.

Right but that was before Jerry Richardson announced he was selling the Panthers. Remember McMahon is from North Carolina.
