RE: 128 countries vote against Israel and United States
He has no argument.
Jerusalem is already the Capitol of Israel, long before Trump ever made any announcement.
This whole thing is just as dumb as it gets and nothing but an exercise in bigoted trolling by the Muslims, the UN and people like Miko.

This.
Last time I checked we were a sovereign nation and not a subdivision of the UN.

That's all well and good, but this isn't moving an embassy in Burundi. It's moving an embassy at the epicenter of nearly every religious fight in the ME. Not to mention, this sort of involves the Palestinians as well.

You mean the same Palestinians that have no sovereign nation and have no saying on what happens in Israel? You mean those same ones?!?

RE: 128 countries vote against Israel and United States
This stand has been long overdue. Quit funding the UN immediately. Get out. Quit acting like we GAF what Nigeria thinks about our foreign policy. No sleep lost here.
I know some in South Carolina had their issues with Nikki Haley as Governor, but I have to admit her frank and concise language in the UN defending American positions is a true breath of fresh air.

Should a country *not* be allowed to name their own capital if it's within their territory?
he's a lawyer.....I didn't get it either....
especially since he was one of the original DJT supporters....
Meh, one can support DJT and not agree with everything he does. I'll not hold it against him.
I don't, just a bit of a knee-jerk reaction. With Trump, I've learned to wait for dominos to start falling further down the line before reacting to the first.

What did you say?
He like to play dumb and make a fool of himself on these issues.
Its a well proven and documented fact that Jerusalem was the capitol of Israel for over 1000 years between 1100 BC and 70 AD before it was totally destroyed by the Romans and the Jews were slowly scatted into all nations for the next 1900 years.
The current modern Israel and its entire history is a word for word fulfillment of OT bible prophecy.
Even the fact that they are still lost and rejecting Christ as their Messiah in modern times, while Jesus' followers are non Jews and one of the largest religions in the modern world.
All just as predicted in the Bible 2600+ years ago.
No eric. Jerusalem was controlled by Israelites (Judah for even longer) independently for a short period of their history. Most of the time they were occupied, and on top of that a lot of peoples were moved in and thoroughly intermingled with various other peoples. There are not true original 12 tribes. No one can trace their lineage back to those times. The Jews were given Israel over guilt from the Holocaust coupled with the strategic advantage of putting them into that part of the world.
Spare me the trolling spin job.
You know good and well no one was disputing they were ruled by Babylon after the 70 year captivity, or any of the other foreign kingdoms that held power over the entire region. The whole region was ruled by a succession of world Kingdoms, but that does not mean the city was not the chief city of the Israelites for over 1000 years and the center of their entire culture and religion.
There is no such thing as 12 pure tribes anymore than any other modern civilized nations still having pure blood lines from 4000 years ago. What an absurd comment to make. The fact is that the Jews have a 3000 year old intimate connection with the city and the "Palestinians" have no historic claim at all.
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel today and it was 3000 years ago as well.
You don't have a truthful, logical argument to stand on here, all you can do is troll.
Correct. Not bad for a protestant

Only one of the two has taken action based on our actions in this matter. Israel has never sanctioned nor disrespected us in the past when we didn't take action in a way they wanted. Seems to me they respect our political process more than the UN.

This is to placate the religious right. They have a connection to the state of Israel because they believe that if/when Israel becomes "complete" and the temple is rebuilt, that it kicks off Armageddon. This is the only reason why the values wing of the GOP gives one rip about Israel.
This has nothing to do with hating Jewish people. Quite the contrary. Jewish people have contributed a great deal to the human race in recent history. The issue is that their claim to the land has long been forfeit since the they first lost their independence. The northern kingdom was lost well before Judah was conquered by the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. Judah and the Jews who lived in Jerusalem didn't even think of the Samaritans (end product of the Assyrian rule of the Northern kingdom) as real worshipers of Yaweh. In biblical terms, the 10 lost tribes that made up the northern kingdom were "lost" due to interbreeding with other peoples that the Assyrians relocated to Israel. The "southern kingdom" - actually Judah - did not think of Samaritans as anything but dogs and not as the chosen people. Judah went on as an independent state for awhile longer and was conquered by the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. For the sake of argument, let's establish a firm date where the Jews were "officially" thrown out of "Israel"around 136 CE at the end of the Jewish revolts against Rome. Around that time period, Israel was long gone as an actual entity and many boundaries were redrawn to make Roman provinces. From that point on, there were some limited successes for Jews to immigrate back to Jerusalem and greater Israel. However, it wasn't until the Zionist movement that was supported by Britain - who came into possession of the middle east after WWI from the Ottomans - when Jews made any real inroads into repopulating the land. The UN in 1948 finally opened the floodgates for the Jews flung across the glob to want to go back.
Long response, but IMHO important on why I believe what I do. Bottom line is that the Jews in Israel lost their claim to that land a long time ago and it was the U.N. in 1948 that finally restored it to them. What the world did in 1948 was to cause a sh!t storm by placing the Jews into their ancestral homeland - a homeland that long slipped from their grasp just like large tracts of the U.S. slipped from the grasp of various native American Indian tribes. Really, it comes again from the arrogance of Europe (and the U.S. unfortunately) to arbitrarily move boundaries around for their own convenience and to deposit the Jews in the Middle East out of guilt for what Hitler did - and of course to get the "undesirables" out of their country. Because lets face it, Europe in particular has a nasty strain of anti-semitism themselves. They were more than happy to off load some Jews from their own countries.
Sorry for the long response.

Its an absolutely remarkable display of bible prophecy being perfectly fulfilled in every detail concerning Israel for over 2500+ years. All provably written in the bible centuries before Rome ever overthrew the nation or Christ was ever born. (we still have OT copies that old)
If the Jews had returned on their own and set up the nation on their own it would have failed to fulfill bible prophecy. Instead Gentile nations (non Jewish) had to help reform and support the nation at its rebirth (1948), and the surrounding nations in the ME had to be vehemently opposed and even go to war the moment the nation was reformed. If not for WW2 and the holocaust, the Jews would likely not have a nation in the holy land today. One of the most pivotal points in human history was the trigger to the rebirth of Israel.
It even made clear it would not return as a divided nation (northern and southern kingdoms) as in ancient times, but would return as a united nation under one leader, STILL rejecting Jesus as their Messiah. The first president was even named David.
Its hard to believe anyone could be foolish enough to deny the bible as the divine Word of God with 2500 years of a nations history prerecorded in such remarkable detail before it ever came to pass. There is nothing else like this in the history of the world that even remotely compares. Not in any religion or the history of any other nation on the planet.
Bottom line, its 2017. The Jews are back in the land and Jerusalem is again the capital of Israel, just as predicted in the bible 25 centuries ago. Biblical aspects aside, that is just the reality of where we are today. People can just go pound sand if they don't like it.

You failed to answer my questions earlier so I'll ask them again. What claim do the "Palestinians" have on the land? What is their genetic identity? What is their history and tie to the land?
If you looked at the area of Israel compared to the Arab nations around them, it would be like them owning New Jersey and the Arabs owning the rest of the United States. God forbid those Jews have any land. You can spin it any way you want, but you sound anti-Semitic. Maybe the Jews should have just stayed in Europe where they have been hounded and killed for centuries. Maybe a few more million could have been sent to the gas chambers since they don't really deserve a country.
BTW, were there any other countries formed in the Middle East in the first part of the 20th Century or was it just a country for those dirty kikes?
