The ONLY way this will be successful is if a vast majority of companies start hiring, increasing capital investment, and/or increasing wages. Without that, a few investments from a few companies will not make up for the loss in federal revenue due to these tax cuts.

with the current spending bill, I agree, there will be a loss in federal revenue, but do you agree that if they pass a new spending bill, we might offset that loss?

Of course. But what are they going to cut? It won't be defense as there's not enough money there and it's their baby. So it will be entitlements of Medicare and Social Security. Which means they lose the house and likely the Senate for sure.

Well there are other things that the government spends than just Medicare and SS. And if they do end up cutting Medicare and SS, thats a risk that I am willing to take.

Right...an additional 3.7% of their yearly average. Again, peanuts. But good for their employees. However, if this is an outlier, it's basically meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Especially if we find out this greases the justice departments palms to approve their merger.

Just wondering how many employees at these large corporations actually make less than $15 an hour? I wouldn't think there would be many.

These announcements are great news and a clear indication of just how generous this bill is to corporations.

Given that the U.S. corporate tax rate was one of the highest on the planet, I think that was one of the major points for the bill.
