You do realize that JP is responsible for 2015-16, most of the 2016-17 & some of the current schedule, right? Schedules just don't get done in the off-season prior to the next season. The question remains, why just complain this season?

The SOS you post...Is that OOC scheduling or the entire schedule.

Because I would contend our schedule will be better than last year by the end of the season.

And the obvious answer is it is tough to schedule good teams when you are not good...Why do think Gonzaga dropped us...Why do you think Xavier dropped us.

To sign 1 player at Memphis rated over 300 screams he’s done after this year. You have to not try in order to do that. He’s a really good floor coach and developmental coach who ignores the other parts of his job.

I hope he’s right and we shock the world and make the tournament this year. That’s a sad commentary on where Tubby has brought this once proud program.

He wasn't complaining about the schedule; merely making a factual statement about what 24 wins would get us. If we had a stronger schedule 20 wins might get us on the bubble. If we had a weaker schedule 26 wins might get us on the bubble.

You also seem to think that we can get great teams to waltz into FEF any time we want. Great teams have always refused to do this. From Cal's first year up to now, we have only had 2 or 3 good OOC home schedules, max.

Obviously, this has zero chance of making any sense to you.

Yes, we were trending down but there was still some real talent on the team. Can't really even say that anymore.

I still think Tubby is a really good coach but he needed to surround himself with a staff that could feed him top 50 - 100 players.

Being a really good coach is a big advantage when the talent level is equal. It can make the difference. When the other team has superior talent coaching can't make up the difference most of the time. Yes there will be occasional upsets BUT I'd rather be the team that's occasionally getting upset than hanging our hat on 1-2 upsets wins a year.

The past two coaches remind me of the old golf joke punchline:

"If he puts the ball where he can hit it; he can't see it and if he puts it where he can see it; he can't hit it.

We need coaching AND recruiting. Paz and Tubby are making the Memphis job way harder than it has to be.
