Trump admitted to much of this already. He went into the beauty pageant dressing rooms and gawked at the girls. He told a national audience this. He is on tape telling Billy Bush he could grab women by the *****, kiss them without warning and just generally act like a drunk high school jock at a party. He is a witness against himself.
But words don't prove conduct. He's a blowhard braggart. We know that. We also knew that a lot of locker room bragging about sexual exploits were things that never really happened. At least that was true in the locker rooms where I was, admittedly at least in part because I was there.
He said he walked in on the girls in the changing rooms and looked at them naked. Numerous contestants confirmed that he did this when they were there. Miss NC was one that spoke up about this. So you have his word and the word of others. He claimed he grabbed women by the ***** and we have several women that say that they had their ***** grabbed by him. One in particular that says she was in Studio 54 sitting down beside some guy she didn't know and before she knew what was happening he had run his hand up her leg and was trying to finger her. She grabbed his hand and got up as fast as she could and got away from him. She told others what had just happened and was told that that was Donald Trump. Her story isn't unique. He says he just comes up to women and starts kissing them because he can. Numerous women relate this story, including a former Fox news reporter that said she got on an elevator with him and he just starts trying to kiss her.
You have to be pretty naive or tribal to discount all of this.
On a scale of 1 to 10, where do you rank his indiscretions compared to Ted "Blonde in the Pond" Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Al Franken, and Roy Moore?
Not trying to evade at ll, I just think we need some perspective. Copping a look or feel is different from actually raping someone. Both are bad. I'm just saying we need to draw a line at what we will let people get away with, and what we won't. And then we need to apply that consistently. So what is your line?
Well Trump is accused of more than groping but it remains to be seen if those more serious accusations have merit. It has been alleged that he raped a teenager.
Clinton has been accused of rape as well, but again the merit of the accusation is in question. He definitely used his power to manipulate and take advantage of women sexually.
Kennedy. The death of Mary Jo K. puts him in a category all his own.
Haster (spell) is a child molester so he goes in there with Kennedy.
Moore is simply put a pervert. A grown ass man that chases 14-18 year old girls, and they are girls, not women has mental / social / emotional issues that should have been addressed long ago. He had grabby hands as well while presenting himself as someone with high moral values. He used his power to try and get what he wanted.
Craig from a few years back is another pervert. He can be bisexual or homosexual all he wants but sex with random strangers in public places is sick.
Franken needed to keep his hands off women. It is bad but not as bad as some of the others.
The use of position / power for sex is the big issue. They all need to be called out and face consequences. Lock the rapists up, kick the grabbers out or don't allow them in. But of course that is much easier said than done and there will be shades of gray that make it difficult to judge fairly. That doesn't mean we do nothing however.
