Here, I'll type this sentence in Welsh for you so you guys can all have fun figuring out what it says.
Mae US Soccer yn dweud eu bod wedi derbyn y 3 enwebiad angenrheidiol ar gyfer 8 o'r 9 ymgeisydd a gyhoeddwyd ar gyfer Llywydd. Ni fydd y rhestr lawn yn cael ei chyhoeddi nes bydd yr holl ymgeiswyr wedi pasio gwiriad cefndirol.

Something I've seen thrown about...Nashville/Sacramento for 2020 and FC Cincy coming in 2019 for the Miami Beckham team that won't be ready yet. Don't know how plausible that is but it would be interesting.

I mean, to me that makes the most sense. Cincinnati has the best chance to be successful right off the bat, with Sacramento still waiting on their stadium to be completed and Nashville not even having a team yet. That Miami team will never be ready, and why the hell should we even want a team down there? The last one folded, and every professional sports franchise in Miami has trouble drawing fans.

Whenever I hear about the Miami Fusion I instantly think of Carlos Valderammaaaaaaaa!!!!!
In regards to the USSF presidential nominees, there is talk that some of the candidates want to go back to the old "school year" set up and do away with the "birth year". What an absolute disaster and sh*t show that would be. Those candidates should be removed from consideration immediately.

That was the biggest ******* nightmare ever for myself and my brother. We got pinched out of a season of soccer because we were both born in June and held back a year from pre-school. Basically made it impossible to play for a club in the U-14 fall season because we weren't in high school yet and everyone else on our team had high school seasons...on the plus side, it made both of us move to more nationally recognized clubs (VARDAR for him and The Internationals for me) and we got college paid for because of it. So in the end, it worked out

A return to the school year system would be just awful.
In my opinion, people who are against the birth year system are only upset by how the change was implemented(without consent of the entire USSF) rather than the change itself.

I wouldnt be shocked if its Paul Calguiri either. Unless I am missing something I dont understand what his natural constituency is beyond what Wynalda and Martino are already going to take.

BTW, a joint Kyle Martino/Kathy Carter presidency/work situation would be ideal in my book.

Wasn't the "goal" to get rid of SUM? I could be mis-reading things, but I don't think Martino wants any part of the status quo.

I dont know if getting rid of it was the goal more than just making it more transparent and accountable.

Eww, no. That would be terrible.
I'm also not sure they'd be able to get votes. There's a lot of question now about who will win this election because the large majority of nominations were for Gulati, who is out of the running. I don't see Martino appeasing to the Gulati lovers, nor Carter appeasing to the blow it all up crowd.

Why is it the top of La Liga gets caught breaking FIFA transfer rules so much? Barcelona in trouble again for contacting Griezman outside the transfer window.

This type of thing happens all the time. In fact, Atletico did the exact same thing by tapping up both Rodrigo and Vitolo not long ago.

I’m betting on Sacramento, Nashville was a stupid choice, should’ve been FCC for the east. Detroit is dead in the water as long as Ford Field is the Stadium and hopefully MLS can stay out of Detroit from now on.

One thing's for sure...if either Sac or FCC get left out, the MLS made damn sure during this process that fan support and success on the field don't matter.
They picked Nashville, a city that has had 4 teams fold in the last decade and a half and whose ownership group is much less wealthy than FCC's, based on their fan support for one USMNT game and a stadium plan that was approved with a self-study that stated they think they'll have 15,000 average attendance. Keep in mind, Sacramento averages over 11,000 in an 11,000 seat stadium and FCC averaged 21,000 this past season in the 2nd division.
Oh well, I was telling everyone I knew who supports FCC that they had no chance of getting in unless Miami falls flat.

I live in Nashville and the announcement has mainly collected . Folks are more interested in signing day, the Preds, and the Titans based on content of sports talk shows today and yesterday (although I have a limited sample). No one at work or none of my friends have discussed except in cursory way.
