MN would likely want the AR job under the right circumstances. But the AR program has seen 7 coaches in the last 25 yrs. AR has never won the SEC. AR will yr in yr out contention for 4th-5th place in the SEC west & the next coach will get 4-5 yrs before the next firing. So the pay has to be substantially more given the insecurity of the job, if a progressive career of success means anything to MN. And with Memphis at $2.6M avg for the next 5 yrs (and the last yr likely near $3M), AR would have to offer in the $4M+range to make the move worth while. I don't think AR decision-makers would agree to that deal for a G5 coach with 2 yrs HC experience. I don't think things likely ever got past that stage. I have no doubt AR wanted MN after Malzahn said no. Sexton provided the parameters to both MN & AR where a deal could be made & either AR thought it was too rich or MN thought it too low, but there was no common ground & the parties moved on. That enables AR to say no offer was made & MN to say I wanted to end the speculation - GTG. and BTW, IMO these supposed "red flags" are BS. If there was something there, it would have surfaced long ago - no disdain & anger like a program scorned.
But the offer to Morris is in the $4m/year range.
So, Arkansas would NOT offer CMN $4m/year range, he turns them down, so they offer Morris $4m/year and Morris takes the offer?
Red flags were also brought up by Ole Miss and Ole Miss wasn't scorned either.

You can tell yourself what ever you want. Coaching at Arkansas means losing 3-5 games in a good year. Always playing second fiddle to Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M and Alabama, and sometimes to MSU and Mississippi. And since that is all it'll ever be at Arkansas, unless you break through with a ton of luck and help and make the SEC championship within 5 years, you're fired and coaching at North Texas at age 44. Coach Norvell chose to remain here for a while, attempt undefeated seasons, try to break the back of the playoff and then, in a few years, if a team comes calling that can actually get to the playoffs, he'll probably pack up and go. But, who knows, by then, they might be 8 and it still might be easier here.
I can tell you this: in the last 12 years:
Arkansas => 4 New Year's Day bowl games, including one BCS bowl;
Us => one New Year's Day bowl game.
While that may be true, under the new CFP scenario, Memphis has a better chance at a NY6 bowl than Arkansas does. And thats the setup everyone has to play under at the current time. In the past 5 years, Arkansas hasnt been close to a NY6. Whereas in the past 5 years, Memphis was one loss away a few years ago when we won the conference championship, we would have had it a couple of years ago if Fuente didnt screw the pooch and interview for Va Tech, and we were a double OT win away this year.
Old rules, today, we have a better chance (with Norvell/Fuente/etc) than Arkansas does (with Norvell/Fuente/etc)

Haven't seen anything beyond speculation on an AR offer to Morris in terms of contract details other than it's a 6-yr deal. But you also missed part of my qualifications, Morris has more than 2 yrs HC experience & is reported the favorite of Jerry Jones. Those things matter. Further you misinterpreted what I said. I don't think, given the parameters where a deal could be done that a formal offer was ever made. And you keep mentioning red flags as if there is some factual evidence. Far from it when it's being touted by OM minions. Finally, I gave my opinion, yours is different but somehow you seem to express your version like its fact. If so, give us some links.

I gave you the ESPN link.
Actually Morris has 3 years HC experience.

In terms of red flags, I never said that they were true, I gave a scenario whereby that could happen to impact an offer, IF an offer was made.

The ESPin link provided is prospective, saying expected to be in the $4M range, not reporting actual contract details. I'm sure the details will come out soon. Will be surprised if in fact it pays $4M/yr for the 6 yr term that has been reported. Since Morris only made $2M/yr, AR might have overpaid or Jerry Jones takes care of his friends.

Good! Im glad he was.I didn’t say he was gone. I said i assume. They could’ve very well talked to him . I like Mike Norvell. I’m a Memphis fan. Glad he’s still here. I’ll be at the Bowl game just like i was every game this year! Go Tigers
Did you tell your buddy that everyone here thinks that you are both idiots for saying that Norvell was recruiting for Arkansas?
Honestly. It doesn’t matter. It’s a message board. There’s several people on here including Poppaslaw and others who will vouch for me. I’m glad he’s still here. Go Tugers
AAs a Tiger fan, yes I can vouch for that.
I cannot vouch for this story. I don't know anything about it, sources etc. The poster is a real person and not an alias. That I can say.

Espin over estimated. Reports now saying near $3.5/yr & 6 yrs. Tells me our coach has a good business head on his shoulders & AR wanted a G5 coach on the cheap.

Old Miss was absolutely scorned. Surely you don't believe they hired Luke because he was the best candidate? lol
Old Miss and UTK were both scorned. By a lot of coaches.
Arkinsaw...yeah, I tend to agree that he probably was not offered...but at this point...
WHO CARES?! We got our guy.
