RE: Troy thread - Break the Trojans
All hats off to Lewis Sullivan. He certainly has been the one who stepped up to the plate and taken over the "game".

Notice the students left at halftime. They were there for the bowl tickets.

This is nothing compared to the hostile environment that they are going to face in four days. Oh, boy! Cokley far from 100%. That worries all of us.

This is an excellent win over a good opponent on the road. They faced adversity in a hot three point shooting team. They held together and didn't panic, something this team has done plenty of times in the past. Best win of the season. So far.

Agreed.

Can’t help but wonder what the outcome would have been if Troy had Varnado.

#8 Kentucky only beat this team by 8.

Best Troy team we have ever faced by far. They made plays and person hit shots with People in his face. I know we like to bad mouth ourselves for some bizarre reason but give them credit for playing well.

We just need to learn to force the ball handler into help so that we don’t have to help off of shooters playside and we would be pretty decent from a team defense standpoint.

Even though we gave up a billion points, it really did feel like our defense looked functional tonight. I saw a lot that gives me hope we can defend decently the rest of this season. They made a lot of 3's with hands in their face(and the ridiculous one right before the half). Things regressed for them late in the game. We are still fairly weak down low, but at least it wasn't open three pointer after open three pointer today.

I remember Sullivan took over the game 2 years ago when we played at Troy as well.

Ah, the final score of the Kentucky game is a bit misleading. KY led 63-42 with 10 minutes to go. KY scored 4 points over the last 8 minutes of the game. I’m not saying KY wanted to only win by 8, but the game was well in hand.

That was some of that Troy home stat keeping. I know we had more than one block

Yep! Sullivan had 22 points and 9 rebounds two years ago in Troy. UAB won 79-63.

Varnado had 24 points in that game, as a freshman.

Outside of their students & band, I counted roughly 1 person per 10 seats which I guess would make 500 in a 5000 seat arena.
