Well, you tell them that. I just know that we still use ULL, our fans still ULL, all media here uses ULL.

Unwinnable fight. Interesting. I'm glad your administration and real fan base recognize that goals worth achieving are worth the effort, otherwise their athletic program may have fewer resources than Little Rock.

Troy still uses ULL as well. Though, no one really calls us Troy State anymore. I don't care what you call us, as you call us.

I usually try to call a school by their preferred name, in this case Louisiana. I don't see any issues with UL or ULL. I do understand why the UL folk don't like being called Lafayette though...

It is their belief that they are slighted by all parties, and the moderators even allow posters from outside the conference to come in and insult the Cajuns. When Cajuns try to defend themselves, they are silenced, sidelined, suspended or banned.

It's been over a year since the Sun Belt Conference released the new reference guide which shows the references for the Cajun teams to be Louisiana and LA. If ULM can acquiesce to that, there really is no reason why everyone else can't as well. There comes a point when competitive smack talk reaches it's limit and refusal to treat others with respect becomes a deliberate attempt to antagonize. And when it's allowed to happen repeatedly, with favoritism on the side of the belittlers, it's pretty easy to understand why Cajun fans will find better things to do with their time than visit this site.

Yall don’t understand ? So we don’t understand why Arkansas-Fayetteville is not called UAF, or Florida —Gainesville is not called UFG, or even North Carolina-Chapel Hill is not called UNCCH?? That’s why if you don’t like using UL, it’s just LA.

Is UL a problem or is it ULL that is the issue? As sensitive as some App fans are about the wrong pronunciation of our name, they should adhere to Louisiana fans wishes about how we reference them.

It’s the fact that we want to be knowned as Louisiana athletically, The University has said that the correct abbreviation is LA. UL is not a problem. Really it’s ULL being the issue.

If you don’t like using the Louisiana reference just say The Cajuns. That’s it.

I don't think the UNC-CH example helps your point with App fans. Since Chapel Hill is part of a 17 campus system (along with App, NC State, ECU, and every other public 4-year school in the state), with six other schools using "UNC" in their campus, I'd say that there's certainly those who resist giving CH the sole use of "UNC." Heck, considering I grew up in South Carolina, I have a hard time calling them "Carolina" either.

Then again, most North Carolinians who aren't Tarheel fans have a wide array of alternative names for the folks in baby blue.

I'm happy to refrain from calling Louisiana "ULL," but "Louisiana" is too long (sorry, but I'm also the guy who thinks it's ridiculous when people name their kid "Christopher" and expect people to never call him "Chris") and "LA" will take a lot of getting used to.
