Excellent job UAB. You guys showed out this season for sure. You also captured the top attended CUSA hosted game in post realignment at 45,212.
Well done FAU, you moved from 10k to 18.5k. Nice job.

RE: 2017 FB attendance results
Would’ve liked to have been over 30k, but given where we were 4-5 years ago, I’ll take it. Hopefully we build on it.

RE: 2017 FB attendance results
interesting article on the Sun Belt board in regards to attendance issues with some schools and how they "meet" the 15K required attendance once every 2 years.
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/sports/...39223.html
some of the ways are detailed below from the article:
The (Coastal Carolina) Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF) is a nonprofit CCU athletics booster organization that is based on campus. It has purchased approximately 15,000 tickets over the course of the season and the school’s alumni association has then enacted promotions offering those tickets for free redemption to recent graduates.
Eastern Michigan annually struggles to meet the attendance requirement and has fallen short in past years, according to NCAA statistics. Pepsi, a corporate partner of the EMU athletics department, purchased as many as 50,000 tickets in 2010 for $3 each to help the school hit its requirement, according to a story in the Ann Arbor News.
Others schools buy the tickets themselves — as the University of Akron reportedly did in 2013. The Zips posted an average attendance of 17,850 that year, but to get to that figure, the school purchased nearly 57,000 tickets at $10 each, according to a 2015 story in Crain’s Cleveland Business magazine.

I'm pretty sure that do not enforce the 15k requirement anymore and haven't for awhile. Schools were going to sue and it wouldn't hold up in court.

Maybe technically, but I saw how many seats were filled during a couple of their games and there was quite a bit of empty space. So they may have sold every ticket, but they certainly didn’t fill every seat. Not necessarily a knock, but an observation.

That might have been the case but at least one game that looked like that early on...got full. Mid way through the first quarter of the Western game there were probably 4,000 empty seats. By the end of it most were full.
You can bet the farm UNT didn't list actual butts in their attendance. I remember watching a game and it looked half full and the listed attendance was somewhere over 23k
Western didn't have 15k late in the season...closer to 10 or 11

Marshall must of had a couple of big attendance games early in the season to get that average cause the last two games were far below that.

Would be nice if we can break 20K next season as a conference average. Like another said, baby steps. I wonder how attendance in other conferences compared this year, and whether theirs went up or down.

Let me be clear, no one in C-USA is pulling down big time attendance numbers, but overall the eastern division is continuing to struggle. Even Rice and UTEP, who between them posted only 1 win this season, pulled in more fans then all but two teams from C-USA East. Have those programs looked at developing some kind of plan to address this trend?

WKU would've had double that but their version of Grimus sexually assaulted a cheeseburger and it made fans leery.
Come on laugh. It's a joke.

They probably do but they don't announce it. Besides, you have a 10 year probation period to get back in good graces.

It's my understanding the tickets sold at a deep discount don't count in attendance totals. Forget the exact language, but something like the price has to be at least X% of the overall average ticket price. I only mention because I don't see how Pepsi buying a bunch of tickets for $3 from EMU would count. Who knows, with them the average price may be $5 anyway.

That might be the rules but we know schools don't follow them. The AD or someone at S. MISS told us this and if you look at dollars made they don't add up unless attendance was based on huge discounted tickets being sold.
You don't go from $2,283,825 to $3,476,155 in the span of a year and avg thousands less than with the lower money higher attendance

Could depend on what game they bought the tickets for. I can by a ticket to VT that costs $17 and wnother weekend the ticket costs $50.
