Heading into a long break after a loss like this is worrying. Will long time players come back motivated or apathetic?

I want to stay as positive as possible about things but we really haven’t had a good showing yet, honestly.

I can't give enough respect for Cacok. He will go down as one of the all-time greats as a Seahawk.

I get your point, but we never played good defense in the last three years outside of a press, and may I remind you that was something we were always frustrated with Keatts about... defensive schemes and a lack of adjustment. ECU beat Keatts too.

Why would you come in and run a different system from what was successful the last 3 years? How about coach to your players and not your system.

We all agree on that. We’ve discussed it quite a bit recently.

I like Gary but if he doesn’t look to score he can’t play because he gets blasted one on one with those bigger guards. Why did Talley guard their star player back to back possessions with 4 fouls down the stretch in regulation. Put him in a tough spot. They finally switched Richmond on him but too late.

We need to tighten this lineup up by conference. If you can’t stop the drive then you need to sit most of the game. ECU physically dominated our guards and exposed us with our deep lineup that we play. Kalina was really bad. Not looking good right now because we don’t have any physicality outside of Cacok and Bryan and maybe Talley.

Let's calm down a little bit. Looking at the CAA I think we can be very competitive. Maybe ECU was playing inspired basketball because they certainly made some difficult shots. I hate the way the season has started but there is a long way to go. Hey, we did see some zone!

If anyone associated with the program is reading, we need to do this.

1. PRESS. Your players know how. They were recruited to press. They have all practiced the press. Our defense SUCKS and this will at least motivate your players and give this team back its'swagger, confidence and identity. We've had run and gun teams during the lost decade and we looked just as bad as we do now.

DO IT NOW..... PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Stop subbing so much. We ran this same pace last year AND PRESSED and we were fine. Narrrow your rotation to 8. If you like Bryan, fine. When he subs out go four guard and press then.

Talley, Taylor, Fornes, and Cacock should play most of the game. Gary, Fornes, Kalina and Estime. That's your rotation.

That's it. There is still a great deal of talent on this team and these guys love to run. But you MUST give them back their defensive identity with the press. We didn't press the WHOLE game, but use it for stretches to disrupt the game, impose our will, create some turnovers and and at least slow down other teams.

For the love of UNCW, don't take us back to the abyss....
