Why the double standard? This is BLATANT RACISM!

Will resident liberals disavow, by calling their representatives and DEMANDING that Al Franken by held to the same standard as Congressmen of color?

They know that whomever replaces the old creepy geezer will also be black and will keep that seat around Detroit for ever because the sheeple will go along to get along. They know if Mr. Not So Funny Guy steps down in disgrace, that senate seat is up for grabs in 2020.

Can't do it, franken is too much of a folk hero. The left has lost all moral high ground on this issue.

President Trump (and I have agreed) has said that if Roy Moore's allegations are proven, we disavow and he should go. Compare that with photographic evidence on franken, and the left still stands by him while calling for a Congressman of color to step down.

dunno. MN wasn't as far as people may think in 2016. it was 30K votes, and a percentage point. trump nearly flipped that one, too.

I was going to say MN was really close last time. Trump winning the 1 state Reagan lost would have really been fun.
The spolier candidate from Utah got 53K votes in MN while Trump lost to Clinton by 44K. He had a real shot

Jill Stein also was a thorn in the side of Hillary clinton. Jill got a lot of votes from Democrats and Independents who did not like both candidates. A lot of votes for the Independents this last election shows there are many people who are dissatisfied with both parties. Yeah, people did not like neither Trump and Clinton. If you add all the third party votes up as one? You can see how many people are upset with both Democrats and Republicans and it is growing every year as people moving into the Independent party from both parties.

It was @ 220,000 votes for the 7 independents on the ballot combined to @2.7 million for the 2 main parties.

In MN, Clinton beat Trump by about 44k votes

GOP spoiler from Utah got about 53k

Stein and the Greens got about 37k

So that's a net loss of about 16k for Trump

Now Gary Johnson got about 113k votes

I think its safe to assume that In a pure 2 party race Trump would won over 30k of those voters, less than 30%. Clinton would have had to win over 70% of Johnson voters.

I think it's very reasonable to conclude without 3rd Parties, Trump would have won MN

Wait a minute, Minnesota would have a special election just like Alabama right? Or does those rules only apply to republican states?

It's nationally blue but not locally... Remember Franken won the first time by an insanely small margin. That Deomcratic Govornor won his first term in the same way.

If Franken steps down the governor appoints a replacement and then there is a special election in November 2018. Would likely be won bybthe party that wins the open governor's seat in that same election.
